"I'm soo sorry." Autumnstar put herpaw on his shoulder then layed her head on his other shoulder in the motion of a hug. "Nothing like that will happen in this camp. I promise." Autumnstar said sadly.

"I'm so sorry!" she started to cry. Autumnstar pushed away from Metalblaze. "No. I will not let your pups come to any harm!" lightning struck as she spoke, making her yellow eyes glow creepily. "Well that was weird." she commented. "Maybe you and your family should move in to my den. As you can see my den is huge and empty." On that last word the cave/den echoed.

Autumnstar woke early in the morning and rounded up her pups. Back in the den with the newly apprenticed apprentices, they spoke. "So I need you three to gather moss. And I will explain why when you get back. Whoever gets the most moss is free from duties for a week!" The 'paws just nodded and raced off excited.

The 'paws came back when the sun was peaking above the mountains. Snowpaw and Bramblepaw had wads of moss their exact size and Ashpaw had a moss wad the size of his head plus tail. "Good job pups! But there is only one winner. Who will grab a mouse from the fresh-kill pile for the elders while the rest of us make the nests?" Autumnstar asked. They all raised their paws. "I think Ashpaw should though." Snowpaw said putting her paw down. Bramblepaw did the same.
"Ok pups. Ashpaw you can do that and be relieved of your duties. Snowpaw, Bramblepaw, you guys did the right thing. Now lets turn this moss into nests!" Autumnstar grabbed the wad Ashpaw was carrying and brought it to the very back of the den. She smoothed it into place with the rest of the moss the other two brought. "Bramblepaw, get feathers. Snowpaw, gather flowers. When Ashpaw gets back I will tell him his next chore." The apprentices ran off to collect the items they were told to. Ashpaw entered the den and asked what to do next. "Oh Ashpaw. You are always helpful. Rightnow I need you to help me put the brambles into place. This needs to look like a den."
They pushed the brambles into place and Snowpaw and Bramblepaw came back with the feathers and flowers and lined the nests with them. "Now we want to make the family feel welcome." She whispers in their ears, "Their first litter was taken by a bird." The 'paws gasped then nodded.
