Boy, this challenge is difficult. At least I churned one out ...

D-Day Zolnixi

My Grandpa Harvey was one among many who landed on Normandy Beach on D-Day during WWII.

I wanted to thank you 3 for participating. I truly appreciate the work you did. Please find your name below to see what I had to say on a more personal level to you.

@Caw... I do like the design alot. It is edgy, and I can honestly see how you can get a name like "Warming Coals" from it. My only thing about your design hon is, how does that reflect what Memorial Day means to you? If you wish not to tell me here, feel free to contact me privately through PM.

@Pickle...You have some very beautiful designs hon, I really see the Patriotic theme in all of them. Just a couple of things though....Was the a real need to make your text font so big? I was just curious on that. And, your last design. I see it more along the same lines with those listed before it than patriotic fireworks/pyrotechnicians. Could you elaborate a little more on how that design in particular represents the title you have given to it. My suggestion, would be to swap it one of your Nixi designs. I see either of them working out more with a title like that then your Ryori. Again that is just a suggestion hon, and it is not something you have to do. It is completely up to you if you follow my suggestion or not.

@Sunny...My grandfather fought during WWII as well, so I can relate there with you on this. As for your chosen design, I can truly respect that decision and though dark it is a beautiful design. Keep up the great work hon!

There is nothing wrong with that, and I honestly like it. It is a nice touch.

I truly appreciate the clarification. I wasn't sure what you were going for with the 1st design, but that makes perfect sense. As for your Poppies...*Face palm* I feel ridiculous now. I should have remembered and I didn't. I know that the veterans of the V.A. usually have a stand or 2 around down and hand out little hand made poppies of that color. I must really need some rest...Either way, thank you hon for the explanation. Keep up the good work!

ahh! I'm sorry I should of made it more clear.
The design is meant to represent the barbecues that people often have- and while having a barbecue you use coals. What I tried to go for is to represent the flames underneath the coals rising.

Hi!
Sadly, I'm going to have to opt out of this weeks challenge. I don't have any time to make designs right now. Sorry!

Good Morning Everyone....I just wanted to give you all a friendly mid-week heads up/reminder. Sunday at 5pm CST is the deadline for this challenge. So if you haven't submit, you still have time to do so. So please do not fret. Relax, and just take it one day at a time. If anything hold off on posting anything until you either have a design or wish to let me know you are opting out. Just remember to be mindful of the deadline.

And for those that have posted a design and or designs thus far. Use this time to add more if you wish to do so, or change/edit what you need to. You have time as well if you would like to fine tune anything with in your design post. If you are 100% ok with what you have submitted then great! You are all done. Just remember to help your fellow group members out and offer them critiques, suggestions, and or remarks. It is through your voiced/words that we as designers grow and blossom with talent. We are able to improve beyond the limits we have already set for ourselves. So please by all means help each other out. Otherwise, please do keep up the amazing work that you do!
