"Just don't jinx us." Nikkie says with a small smile, "Glad you are okay."

The path shudders beneath you, and the beast starts climbing, using its sharp feet to climb up and out. Nikkie takes a step back in fear.
A giant armored scorpion was behind you, claws snapping and tail ready to stab anybody that moved. It was at least as big as you height wise and around two of you length - head to tip of tail -wise.

"It's behind me, isn't it?" She slowly unsheathes her sword, careful to not make any sudden movements.

"Nice big scorpion." Nikkie says, shrinking slightly.
The scorpion waits patiently, ready for its prey to start running. Its stinger sat high and mighty above its back, ready to rain down death. It had been sleeping and it had been disturbed. It couldn't see well - its eyes were on top and along the side of its head and it can't see really well anyways - and so it relied on touch, sensing others movements. It doesn't seem to recognize that you have unsheathed your sword, but it definitely recognizes the movement of Nikkie backing up in fear. It takes a step forward.

"Nikkie, stop moving!" She hissed. "We could try to slowly get in it's blind spot. Right in front of it's face." She whispered even quieter. She moved even slower right in front of the scorpion.

"I'm not going close to that thing." Nikkie whisper yells back to you, not moving.
The scorpion clicks its pinchers, moving to the last place it had sensed Nikkie moving. Nikkie freezes before slowly going into fatal position. The scorpion cannot sense anyone running away from it and is rather confused. It knows that there is a being in the room and it was pretty sure that this hallway was teleportation proof. Oran had told it that at least. The scorpion swings its tail in a threatening way, hoping to scare its prey into moving so that it could chase it down.

"You don't need to get close to it! You just need to move somewhere behind me, slowly. You will then be in it's bling spot and it won't see you." She whispered. She turned back into the weak human form so her wings and tail wouldn't be visible.

Nikkie turns into his kitsune form and slowly limping to where he could hide behind you.
The scorpion hisses, turning quicker than thought possible with its bulk, and smashed its tail into the floor next to you. Nikkie squeaks and backs up, tripping over his tails. The scorpion raises its stinger again and stabs Nikkie. It retracts its stinger again, point dropping with blood. The scorpion senses that the being who had interrupted its nap had been properly gotten rid of and disappears back into the pit.

"Nikkie!" She started panicking and checked for Nikkie's pulse. "You can't be dead yet."

Nikkie has a faint pulse, but it is definitely slowing down. Blood is pooling around him, and his face is a deathly pale.
Oran the green light goes through the door you had exited, bobbing to see who had died. "Bah, it killed him and not you... Oh well. I'll just have to try harder."

"You're a sick psycho! If I could reach you right now I would light you up like a firework." She growled and her blood boiled. She touched Nikkie's body one last time, and started walking down the hall.
