I would love to have such a magnificent stag on my side, but I would prefer to try to help him rather than throw a net at him.

I choose answer D. I will save my traps and hope for the best.

Chapter 3:

Everyone throws their traps at the stag and watches as he struggles to get away. The Faelora manages to throw off every trap except Komadori's. Quickly, Komadori runs to the stag and calms him, letting him know he is safe and now under their control. The group gathers, pats Komadori on the back as a slightly jealous congratulations. You've lost one of your traps and gained nothing.

Now that the stag has been dealt with everyone makes their way to the house's front door. The old steps creak horribly and everyone cringes with every step, you wouldn't want to wake the forest now. You touch the cold brass doorknob and turn gently, asking if anyone is present as you do. There is no answer and the group proceeds.

A candle on the wall next to the door bursts into flames as you all enter the house. When the entrance is cleared the door slams shut and the walls shake violently. The wooden floorboards creak and crack and begin falling into a black hole starting from the centre. Everyone panics and soon the entire floor is gone. The darkness engulfs you as you fall into the pit for what seems like forever until everyone suddenly lands on a cold, stone floor unharmed.

Another candle bursts into flames to reveal a stone room with a single wooden table in the centre. Theres a roll of parchment, which you unroll to reveal a map of the forest. Smiles fill the room until someone asks, "Ok, but how do we get out of here?". Some have worried looks, some begin to investigate the surroundings.

A beautiful, elaborate tapestry on the wall glows for a brief second to catch your attention. Everyone shuffles cautiously towards the tapestry to take a closer look. The fine details of the cloth reveal a strange message "Dark openings offer retreat". You can hear the stone behind the tapestry crumble, and as you lift it a small door, hole and window (only showing darkness through its glass) form in the stone wall. None of them seem to be large enough to fit a human through, but this must be the way out nonetheless... but which exit is it?

A. Door.
B. Hole.
C. Window.

This is a group vote. The most popular answer will be carried out. Please discuss.

The map has been unlocked! Heres your current location:

To answer the questions surrounding traps...

The Sylestia game mechanics (or reality, obviously) doesn't apply to this game. It's a game of riddles or luck. In this case it was luck.

If you used the green trap you got 1 entry into a random drawing. If you used blue you got 2 entries, purple was 3 entries. Because the Faelora was weak even a green trap would work. Komadori won the drawing (done through random.org, as always).

This may or may not apply to later scenarios. Not every scenario will play out this way, but it's possible it can happen again (haven't decided). Even if I knew now I would not tell you guys! I don't want to give any hints. ^-^

Well the door is the most obvious answer, it could me magic and grow or something

The hole could lead anywhere a tunnel ect

The window only shoes darkness meaning its probably dark on the other side.

My answer B: Hole

Window
Pros: Darkness behind the window, goes with the tapestry clue
Cons: Could be locked, could have nasties, could open onto nothing

Hole
Pros: It does not open onto nothing, goes into darkness
Cons: Have to crawl, could have nasties, would be hard to hold a light

Door
Pros: We normally use doors?
Cons: Could have lots of nasties, could open onto nothing, could have another disappearing floor.

My final answer is choice B.

My final answer is A because I think you would be able to fit maybe through the window, even though a door is bigger.

"Dark openings offer retreat".

The window obvious shows darkness, since it's specifically mentioned in the story. But does it count as an opening? =/

I'll think the door and window are the same in terms of "openness", since it's not mentioned specifically if they are open or not, and since windows and doors can be opened or closed. So presumably even if they are not open, we could open them.

And most likely the hole is dark too. Since we fell into a dark pit, based on context, the surroundings should be dark, unless otherwise specified. So presumably the hole is dark. And if so, would make it the most likely option that fits the hint. Since holes are definitely openings.

Hmm... I'll see if anyone else has something to discuss, then I'll decide and cast my vote. =P
