"you only cover part of someone's initials if your stories overlap" she explains, putting her hand over her initials where it overlaps with another. "you'd put yours here" she says to me, gesturing to a bit of a blank space next to hers "and you would put yours a bit on top of hers, mine and ruby's" she explains. "most of the people on this wall are alive, except for the very, very first names on this wall. they're all in their eighties or dead" she adds.

I watch in wonder at this

A thought strikes me, although probably a far-fetched one. I can't help but wonder if there's.... a specific set of initials somewhere on here.

"who are you looking for?" Alex asks "i know almost every initial on these walls, if its here i know it" she says confidentially. "do you have a friend here or something?" i ask curiously

I cast my gaze along the wall, could Kaito know someone here?

"Two people, really," I say quietly. "Lilura Fujimori and Itsuki Kayashi. Just..... a thought. I could be wrong." Lilura, my mother, and Itsuki, my older brother. Both missing since I was a young child...... could this be where they went?

Maple didn't know if she should put here's on here or not or on someone's name she just stayed silent and watched everyone else go before her, tbh she didn't have initials she didn't even know her last name, her parents never told her and she was always home schooled she didn't even know if maple was her birth name her father left when she was born so she never knew him, her mother said he was out being a good guy but never came back

"i know them, but their initials aren't on this wall" Alex sighs, shaking her head "they used to visit the free city all the time before they got arrested" she drops her hand, pursing her lips. then, she pulls a few cans of spray paint, offering them to her "you can add them if you want"
