I agree with wonder. The window and door aren't listed as being open at this moment, whereas a hole...definitely is. In fact the window is almost certainly closed since the darkness is seen through its glass. It is also impossible to know if what lies behind the door is dark or not while the door is shut. The hole isn't said to be glowing or anything, and it's already open, so...

My final answer is B. Time to try crawling through a hole.

Well, the hole certainly seems to be most interesting. B it is.

No, you guys, the hole is way too obvious! We're in a room lit by candles, so presumably some of their light is filtering into the hole and illuminating it. We can't tell anything about what's behind the door, but the window is actively showing darkness despite having candle-light on it -- you would expect that light to show what's on the other side, but it isn't. The tapestry specifically said: "Dark openings offer retreat"

That means it has to be the window which is the safest (or maybe only?) method of leaving the room.

My final answer is C: Window!

Since you already casted your vote, not much point in me saying this, but thought I'll try to discuss to help me decide. =P

My issue with your reasoning is that there seems to be only one candle where we are. The only other candle that was mentioned was left at the door of the house before we fell down the pit. And candles aren't very bright, so I would say it's not surprising if the light from one candle does not illuminate much else. It can be illuminating the entrance of the hole, but not strong enough to shine within the hole to make it non-dark.

But yes, it's specifically mentioned that the window is dark.

So I'm thinking if we're supposed to focus more on the "dark" or the "opening" in the hint. Cause the way I see it, "dark" seems to be pointing to window, and "opening" seems more likely to be the hole. =/

(I'll continue waiting to see other people's points till closer to the deadline =P )

I don't really like the whole hole idea (no pun intended) its just to cramped I mean it screams CAVE IN and everyone dies. I like windows. I don't have a big thing for doors anymore sense the house basically collapsed because of all of us.
