I twitch my tail, signaling to the others that this is my prey. I slowly lower myself in a crouch, sliding forward and being careful not to step on a leaves or twigs which could alert it. I keep my tail too where it is just skimming the ground and not making any noise as well. Once i'm close enough I pounce

I check the direction of the wind, and adjust myself to be downwind of the mouse, careful not to step on any more leaves or twigs.
