They seemed to see your movements and left the other battles to fight against you

"Thanks Jester!" She drew her sword. if she could keep no focused on her and take on one at a time privately she could probably rescue the rest.. until this legendary showed up, anyway. She attacked the first one, trying to draw her sword up it's underbelly.
