"Are you trying to read it?" Japan asked. "It is really hard to discern, isn't it? They look like mere lines compared to your language..."
She sighed, but didn't want to lie and gave a nod, she shuffled uncomfortable, embarrassed, especially since he had clearly said earlier it was disrespectful for her not to know his language yet, even if he hadn't directly said it, she'd definitely inferred that from him.

Hungary was cooking down in the kitchen. "Hello Israel!" she said, smiling. "Are you done with Austria's room?"

"When I first met China, I had no language of my own. I just drew all the time. It was very difficult for me to learn his language and characters. I understand how confusing it must look to you." he said, smiling. He pointed to two characters on the page. "This word is Toitsu. It means 'unity'." he said.

She smiled and gave a nod, "How do you even do it, Kiku? You must know so many alphabets.. the English one is confusing enough, it's completely different, they keep on removing letters" she cuddled up to him, using it as an excuse to 'see the book better'

"Ah, well, if you want to help me cook, you can." Hungary said, chopping up some carrots. Or you can try to clean Germany or Prussia's room, though I doubt you'll find anything to clean. Germania's room is clean too. The only other room I can think of is Germany's old room. We all refuse to go in there, for our own various reasons, so it never gets cleaned..."

"Well, I just like to learn languages. Learning a language is like becoming part of a culture... I learn many languages, which makes it easier to communicate with my fellow countries who don't speak English very good, like China for instance. Sweden learned Finnish when he married Finland so he could communicate better with his wife. I learn it because I want to communicate better, but also because I like the languages."

She gave a nod and looked back at the book. She half wondered how he didn't suddenly accidentally switch. She wasn't the smartest cookie and didn't exactly find learning languages easy like that one kid who speaks it fluently within a year >-< "Is Finland a girl?" she asked absentmindedly
