As you headed West, no water could be heard while you walk. The ground got harder the further you went. On the wind, you caught a smell of squirrel.

Silversong raised her nose to the wind and sniffed, trying to move downwind of the water vole. She then tried to creep up on the vole and pounce.

They lay close to you, their freezing and wet fur against your stomach. Neither of them could speak properly, but both seemed healthy. The ginger one licked your cheek fur before curling around his sister.

Silversong frowns a bit, reflecting on how she'd done this time and noted what she could do better next time. Sighing, she looked around and continued down the riverbank some more. Maybe there will be more prey so she could practice her hunting, or maybe there will be cats.
