"looks like they do like you!" i say, gesturing at the bird on him. i lean closer, lowering my voice. "you think animals like the reaper?" i ask, glancing around "i mean he hunts them all the time, doesn't even eat them sometimes"

Vitalus slowly pets the bird. "Sometimes everyone needs a companion," he said and goes back to reading.

"true" i concede. "i guess we should just wait until gabriel gets back and ask him, then." i say, setting down my book "until then, i'm going to take a nap, i'm tired" crawling into my sleeping bag i lay my head on the blankets, using them as a pillow as i drift off to sleep.

Mizuki : I sit still reading my book

the reaper returns awhile later, the sound of his heavy boots on the wooden floor waking me from my sleep. he's got his mask on again, he must have put it on before he left. in one hand he carries a bag of meat, in the other he carries the skin of what must have been a very nice looking doe. he sets me meat on a plate above the fare, taking off his clawed gloves and going back into the storage room, depositing the deer skin and coming back with a few bowls of spices, which he sprinkles on the meat as it cooks.

"i hope my animals haven't been giving you trouble" the reaper says, pulling the first slab of meat from the fire. it burns his hand and he blows on it before reaching for the next. "i've got food for your dogs if they're hungry" he says, pulling the last piece out and placing it on the plate. "thank you" i say, grabbing one of the massive slabs of meat, i give it to orion, who happily slinks off with his prize to go eat it in the corner. the reaper sets out another slice on a cloth on top of one of the book shelves, and the birds descend on it, happily tearing it apart with their sharp beaks and talons.

Vitalus nods and grab some meat for Glacis and hands it to him. Glacis gently takes it from Vitalus hand and starts to eat the meat slowly.

"hey reaper" i speak up "we were wondering, do animals like you?" i ask. "i have a name, you know" he says, not looking up from the fire "as for your question, some do, some don't." glancing around at the others, i speak up once more. "whats your name, then?" i ask. "gabriel. no last name." he answers simply, busying himself with cleaning the dishes in the small bucket of water by the door.

Mizuki : Did you have any family in the before i ask shyly .....

"the before was around a hundred years ago, why would you ask that?" he asks, looking confused"...but yes, i did used to have a family." he sighs. "a mom, at least" he smiles, probably remembering her fondly. i shift awkwardly where i stand, busying myself with orion.
