Snegurochka is a girl of the ice and snow in Russian Fairy Tales. She is a snow doll who came to life for her parents, who had no natural-born children. Unfortunately, some girls invited her to walk in the forest one day, and she melted while playing a game that involved jumping over a camp fire.

Nuuttipukki
It's a Christmas tradition in my household to watch Rare Exports, a Finnish movie about uncovering Nuuttipukki, "evil santa". Nuuttipukki actually predated Santa in Finland. In lighter storytale versions, he takes gifts, food, and drinks from people. In the darker ones, he takes their kids. Rare Exports is definitely not a kid friendly movie, but it's a good scare, with a fun little twist ending. You can also look up the mythology and folklore behind it for some fun.

The Wintersmith
From Sir Terry Pratchett's book 'Wintersmith'. In the book, the Wintersmith is trying to become human and he asks some children how he can do that. They tell him the poem below in reply:
Iron enough to make a nail,
Lime enough to paint a wall,
Water enough to drown a dog,
Sulphur enough to stop the fleas,
Potash enough to wash a shirt,
Gold enough to buy a bean,
Silver enough to coat a pin,
Lead enough to blast a bird,
Phosphor enough to light the town.
Strength enough to build a home,
Time enough to hold a child,
Love enough to break a heart.
