Thank you very much!! I will definitely keep my eye on those! I have to say, I am very excited for the Spring Festival and the themed pets in it.

This is kinda not about breeding, but I couldn't find any threads about scale shop eggs.
So my question is, if the egg cost 1000 scales, does that mean it has better genetics that one that cost 490 scales?

Eggs that cost more scales are supposed to have better genetics. But how much exactly I'm not sure... I bought one egg for 980 scales, and the sylesti turned out to be 1 vis. Only bought one egg so far so can't make any comparison.
Hope that helps.

I finally have two pets that I can breed, but I'm kind of nervous about doing so. I feel like I'm way too newb to jump headfirst into it, so I was hoping for some advice. My Vulnyx don't really haven any genes in common, and I'm thinking that might mean it's a bad idea to breed them... right? @w@;
If anybody can offer guidance of any kind, it'd be super appreciated :D

It really depends on what you're going for. It would help a lot if you could post which ones you want to breed so we can look at the genes, otherwise it'd be nearly impossible to explain.

I have this lady
so I'm trying to figure out who's 'best' mate for her out of these three:

So breeding genes and mutations depends basically on two things: the traits of the parents and the dominance of the genes. The traits break down like so:
Carry x Carry = 25% visible, 50% carry, 25% nothing
Carry x Nothing = 50% carry, 50% nothing
Vis x Nothing = 100% carry
Vis x Carry = 50% vis, 50% carry
Vis x Vis = 100% vis
Traits are also dominant or recessive to one another. The easiest way to see it is if you go into Advanced Pet Search. Each trait has letters (AA), (BB), etc. That's their dominance towards other traits. AA is the oldest and most dominant trait in the breed, which means it's the one that will show when breeding two Sylesti with that trait and a different one in the same spot, however there is a chance that an offspring will carry a recessive gene. I don't have the percentages to that close to hand, unfortunately.
Let's see here...well first off, I would probably avoid breeding her to Talfidael. He's a themed pet and she isn't. Non-purebred themed pets aren't very popular, from what I've gathered.
50% chance of Clouded Leopard carried.
50% chance of Tuxedo visible, 50% chance of Tuxedo or Arctic Panda carried.
100% chance of Demon Wings carried.
25% chance of Tundra Fur visible, 50% chance of Tundra Fur or Jingle Bell Bow carried, 25% nothing.
50% chance of Flame Spirit Horns carried, 50% chance nothing.
50% chance of Tuxedo visible, 50% chance of Tuxedo or Lynx carried.
50% chance of Demon Wings visible, 50% chance of Demon Wings or Skeletal Armor carried.
50% chance of Tundra Fur carried, 50% nothing.
Going purely off of genetic results, Cookies would be the best match with a chance for 2 visible traits and 3 carried ones. It also depends on what you're aiming for as well, though. If you want specific traits to pass down and/or be visible, you need to pick and choose based on that.
Say you wanted to have Flame Spirit Horns visible in the offspring. In order to do that you would need to make a breeding chain to pass that trait down. First you would need to breed Esidael to either Cookies or Elahrirah to get an offspring with it carried. Personally I would breed to Elahrirah first until I got an optimal result of Tuxedo, Demon Wings, Tundra Fur and Flame Spirit Horns all carried. Then, if you're lucky enough for the offspring to be female, you could breed that Vulnyx to Cookies to get a potential 3 vis pet with a carry.
