Yes! Thank you for the advice. I'll make sure there's plenty of mana before I block!
[edit]
bleh. still a slaughter. It is not fun to watch my sylesties get murdered so brutally with no hope of any sort of survival.
>< I'll have to hope to stumble across better equipment, or pray that someone is selling something decent. Because trying to fight him with the guardsmen's equipment is just a bloodbath.

@Flute,

when one tank gets into the low HP %, you can switch it to the side with the other tank. c:

What do you mean switch it to the side with the other tank?

@Butterfly,
You can switch your pets around during battle using the red arrow over in the lower right. Instead of using an item, you click on two of your pets, and they swap locations. If you have multiple tanks that can take a lot of damage (you should usually have your tank in the lead spot that takes the most damage), then once one is lower on health you can swap them out for the other tank. This is extremely helpful, especially in Arena fights, and since items can't be used, there are no drawbacks to moving pets around. :3

Oh wow! I think I missed that part, either that or completely forgot about it! Thank you very much. I usually get Fire Eyes down to about 20% health, and have 1 pet standing, and it does pretty well. So maybe that's my real issue. Thanks again!

Gah. 3 level 25 sylestis, all with all 5 PP on health, and I got creamed. Gonna have to try moving them around more, and try to find some decent armor.

I managed to beat Fire Eyes using the following:

My lead pet has all proficiency and level up points towards Health. The proficiency points are spent in the Earth element because it's a physical element

My backups have all their levelup points in Health while their Proficiency points are spent on Intelligence in the Light element.

I use the best Esior town armor because it has been better then any armor I've actually found (granted I don't battle dungeons that often).

The purpose behind the lead pet being Earth is because physical does less damage against physical, making it last longer against Fire Eyes. Along with the chance of the special attack making Fire Eyes focus on that one pet, which spares your backups damage

The purpose behind the backups being Light is that it's Magical damage which is highly effective against Fire Eyes Physical damage along with the special attack having a chance of healing all party members for a part of the damage dealt. The downside is that Magical also takes high damage from Physical. This leads back to the Earth elements ability of causing the target to only focus on that one pet.

Basic summery is that your lead pet is a distraction that can take a good licking and keep on kicking while you backups are pounding at Fire Eyes with high damage each turn with a chance of healing the party.

I've never had Fire Eyes's "Heat of the Moment" hit all my pets before on any turn. This might be because of Earth's ability but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I hope this helps

@LunarStorm,

I used your tactic/strategy and managed to get one pet on 0%.. The plus side? He was also on 0%.. Not dead, but lower than 1%.. IT WAS THAT ATTACK THING AND I DIED. At. Zero. FLIPPING. Percent.. Ugh.. Thanks for the help though

Fastest battle of mine, yet! 9 turns, but since 1 didn't get a chance to land finishing blow, I could have done it in 8 turns. X)
