What type of party would you recommend for fighting Eleane? I defeated her once but got two of my pets killed, so what do you suggest?

Eleane is very tough - I recommend a strong defense when you fight her, especially if you don't have max-stat pets.

I've tried a variety of elements against Eleane and here's what I can say -

For a tank, physical elements seem to be more durable against Eleane. I would suggest Water - Tidal Surge and the mitigation buffs it offers is extremely useful, and Ice Barrier is a great damage absorber.

Earth is also useful - taunt is a great way to keep your cannon pets alive, if you're willing to use revives on your tank (or if its health is high enough to take it all).

I've found that shadow is a little weaker in this boss fight - it's health steal isn't quite as effective as the extra defense from the physical elements.

I would also suggest spending your tank's prof points in health and agility - strength/intel is not as important in this fight as sturdiness!

Air is the cannon I use the most when I fight Eleane, mostly because it's my personal preference - fire gets the job done, but I prefer the single-target focused damage to concentrate on the vicars first. For prof points I'd do 3 strength/intel and the last in either health or dex - depending on if you want more crit hits or more survivability.

And I never go anywhere without a light pet, lol - once you unlock Divine Balance, it's a huge help. Rank 3 beam with the 100% healing is also great, and is usually enough to keep your cannon alive without much trouble. I always do 3 intel with light, and the last in health or agi according to your preference. Some people do dex instead - personally I don't think it makes a huge difference. :)

Hope that's helpful - feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

Okay, next time i'll try an Water Light and Wind. I usually don't use tanks, so that'll be new for me, and I guess Divine Balance would be a long way away though, since now 3 levels seem like a whole lot. Thanks for the info! Time to stomp on those Captains!

Happy to help! Generally I like to say that it's all about what works for your playstyle - but Eleane is a tough customer, lol. I think a tank will make it a lot easier on you. Good luck! :)
