I second this

"Bottled Moonlight:
I see why you want to differentiate the A1 from the G1, but I think the change should be the other way around, if anything. The new yellow is far too yellow for the theme. It looks more like bottled sunlight than moonlight that way. Far prefer the original on this one." -Mikazukichan

@ mika: old anthias:

@krin: Mind if I have a play with the theme in the generator? I'm glad that you're addressing the problem of 'blue' on the anthias, but the alternative is generating controversy also. I'm gonna have a play in the generator with the design. I'm getting the feeling that the new-new design might be missing something.

This is a reply to Kenywi's post on the other thread.

Point taken about the Lunes being at an angle, which would affect the appearance of symmetry. However, I think most players are allowing for that. If you turn the Lunes in your mind so that they are full face-on, you'll see that many of the Genes still are not symmetrical. Consider G1 Faded Glowlight--

Notice how the uppermost pair of spirals both turn counterclockwise (widdershins) from the viewer's perspective? To be symmetrical, those markings would need to turn in opposite directions--
*

Faded Glowlight is subtle; the other asymmetric Genes are even more obvious.

I don't think I'd mentioned Shard Wings before, but I agree with you. Shard Wings might make a nice addition, but original Gem Wings made the Lunemara look like gemmed bibelot worthy of Faberge. I miss them.

I think you nailed it on the issue with the body--that "bulb" look, not just the thickness. Perhaps if the body was just a bit more cylindrical?Thoughts? From anybody?

*resumes studying Anthias Lune variations*

*I should have made the spiral that I changed larger than the spiral opposite it, since it is closer to the viewer than the other one is. However, I did this in a hurry.

Oh wow! I didn't realize how many colours were a part of Mantis Wings either! Those are going to be interesting to play with for sure!

And I love the orange cake lunes XD I have several of them and am excited to play with regenning them. I do like the pop of green here and there, and always did, it just seemed like there was *a lot* of green after the revamp XD We'd have had to rename them Orange Tree lunes lol.

Also, I'm glad Krin took your suggestions into account for the Honey Bees ^.^ I'm also glad that the brighter yellow is intended, cause I really do like it ^__^

Thanks for pinging me to your post, Xav! I enjoyed reading your thoughts on the themes you designed ^_^

I made a slight change to AC 2

6 vis example:

hmm. The general complaint is that the yellow/pink is overpowering in in this new/new design, and yet do remember that the old anthias were exactly the same.

@Ama

Haha, this is why I asked if the overpowering pink was an intended thing in the theme. Since I didn't collect them before, I wasn't sure. I have to say, I love some of the examples you have in that last post though! I might have to go looking for some Anthias babies if that's what they end up looking like!

I personally think the old design for the Autumn Night Lunemara is enough, and I dislike the two different shades of yellow on the new design. They're close to not contrast, while at the same time their different enough that you can tell they're not the same colour.
