"Where did you learn how to do that?" He watched her hands braid the strands delicately. Then, he attempted to copy her, failing miserably. Shaking his head, he laughed. "I give up."

"I learned it from my mother, the day before she died." I place it delicately on Jackson's head.

Blue shifted to her full animal form and sprinted about the forest. She stuck her head inside a hollowed out log then quickly came out, noticing a huge skunk inside. "Oh dear..." she said quietly and dashed off.

He laughed, touching her hand, then drawing it back quickly. "Uh, thanks. And I'm sorry about your mother."

"Yeah." I blush a little bit.
"I don't remember hardly anything. It all happened eight years ago. I ran as fast as I could to our summer den, and have been living there ever since." I say.

Elissa circled the woods again, trying to gain some sense of direction. She never got lost flying out over the ocean, but a storm had driven her inland and she had no idea what direction the sea was in. She pressed her wings to her side and dove downwards, aiming for a clearing in the trees, before snapping her wings open again. Unfortunately she was used to diving into water, and she had picked up way too much speed. She hit the ground hard and rolled across the hard ground. Elissa lay still for a second, making sure nothing was broken, before sitting up and looking around. Her eyes landed on a rabbit running towards her.

"Still, it's terrible." He shrugged, smiling at her slightly. "I never knew mine, but I like to imagine them as nice people."

Blue ran up to the bird and smiled. Hi! I'm Blue!" she said happily. She had completely forgotten she was in her full animal form. "What's your name?" She asked.

Elissa scrambled to her feet in surprise, before realizing it was the rabbit who was speaking to her. "Oh, hi! I'm Elissa. Nice to meet you," she said, wiping her face. Her hand came away with blood, but she just shrugged and wiped it on her shirt. The cut didn't sting too bad, so it probably wasn't deep enough to be a problem.

"Did you hear something? I thought I heard a crash."
My ears twitch as I hear two people talking. I can't quite make out what they are saying.
