Password123 is easy to remember but easier to "hack" Was anything stolen, released, spent or sold in the accounts krin? I remember getting my neopets account hacked years ago and had everything of value 100m+ of currency, items and 2 pets lost. It was a nightmare and neoteam werent helpful much at all. I basically had to build up from the ground again they didnt want to do too much more than ban the accounts my currency and items ended up on. which in some cases was innocent people that entered a giveaway. The accounts with my pets were iced too they were thankfully returned but i didnt think they were the ones behind the hacking either =/ right royal mess all round that I am certain would be 100% different here

I do not believe so. My best guess is that they were probably just phishing for matches - for whatever the reason - and probably logging the matches. The accounts were being logged in via a bot script at a rate of hundreds per minute.

Don't worry, that scenario would never be the case. If you ever get locked out of your account, you can always contact our support email and we will help you get back in.

At this point, in order to change your email address w/o access to the original email address, you will have to PM and I will have to manually resolve it.

oh thank you!! i think it would definitely be smart to change my account email here, just in case this sort of hacker stuff happens again.

Thank you for the update. I heard about this from another pet site, Felisfire, and got scared that my account was also compromised. I'll be eagerly awaiting the updates and am relaxing some knowing that everything is being taken care of behind the scenes

One small question, how where they managing to log in so quickly?...

yeah really, i dont have easy log in stuff anywhere of importance xD

What i do is i have a password protected word document of all my passwords. that way i only need to recall one pw and can cut and paste all the passwords for the sites i use
