She would hopefully be able to drop it right in the path of the cart's wheels and cause a sufficient distraction to stall for time. She scrambled for another question before they could notice her hesitation.

"Do you think we will be able to get away?" she asked, biting her lower lip, hoping that they would see her as a frightened, not entirely trusting, girl.

"They're after us, not you, girlie" he said simply, ruffling your hair. You managed to make only one small pebble, but as the road was lined with them it wouldn't make much of a difference.

The sky was cloudy and there was a gentle breeze. There were some boats tied up, but some people were also tasking fish out of nets.

He walked briskly to catch up with Crystal, who seemed to already be on her way to the nearest city.

Heph bit her lip when she realized this, even as her mind began whirling even faster. She didn't want to even try to hurt these guys, partly because she couldn't fight, partly because they were living beings like her.

"What did you do, if you don't mind me asking? You don't have to answer," she asked, stalling a little.

She could figure out which was the magic user, maybe? And perhaps try to knock him unconscious first. Heph gripped the rock and the pens harder.
