They were stuck fast, although you notice a lock at the end of the cell. The lock, however, was extremely complex, and seemed to be only openeable with a complex key, or with magic.

She sighed and touched it before trying to kick it open and 99% sure she fails

It bobbed back at you, and you wandered away more, until it was gone into the distance. You see something bright in two directions; right and left.

She looked closer trying to determined which side seemed more likely to contain the cat. She wanted to be right if one of them contained the cat.

You kick it. Apart from making your foot hurt, nothing happened much. Inside the cell came yells of "save us!" And "curse you, shadow woman!" Narrator suggests you find your friend first.

He screamed, finally letting loose of the orb. His body jerked and convulsed, more blood leaking out the side of his nose as he collapsed into a pile at your feet.
