Vitalus nods and went to the stickling. He found three and carefully look at each one. He found the one that Gabriel was talking about and brought it over.

Asmodeus ponders over a couple of sticklings for awhile, deciding on one that looks about right.

looking around at all the sticklings, i pull one out of the dirt, testing it. it bows under it's own weight. too flimsy. casting it aside i select another one, this one cracks when i try to twirl it like he did, so i cast it aside as well. after a few more failures i finally find the perfect stickling, bringing it back to Gabriel for inspection.

he gives it an experimental twirl, nodding in approval as he does so. "this one will do fine" he says, handing it back. he inspects the others sticks, approving them as well and handing them back. "you saw how i prepared them, correct? do your best" he instructs.

pulling out my knife i lop off the top and bottom, whittling away one end into a fine point. once sharp, i give myself and experimental prick, wincing as it draws blood.

looking over the sticklings i find the perfect one and crack it ....

Asmodeus whittles the ends of his own stickling into sharp points. Like Andromeda, he gives the end of the point an experimental tap, examining the blood drawn with a nonchalant expression on his face. The boy has a high tolerance for pain.

Vitalus nods and grabs a knife in his boot and starts to cut the stick into a sharp point. He lightly touches it and nods his head thinking, "Just right,"

"alright, now i'll teach you how to use them" he says "grab your spear with two hands, and stand with your feet even with your shoulders. find the middle of the spear, thats where your hands will go. one hand needs to be on the bottom middle part, and the other on the top middle part, you should be able to fit three hands between the two." he explains, waiting for us to mimic his stance. "now, when you throw, you want to lean back, twisting your hips as you throw" he details, tossing the spear. it flies through the air, lodging itself firmly in the trunk of a tree across the clearing.

Mizuki : I also sharpen my stick to a fine point pricking on my finger gigling then i do what Gabriel says ....

Vitalus nods and throws it hard and it's the center of the tree. "Just like when I was young," Vitalus said.

"good!" Gabriel says, inspecting where mizuki threw his spear. it landed in the grass near the tree, close but not quite there. either way, Gabriel approves. i copy Gabriel's stance, carefully aiming my spear for the tree. i throw it, watching as it sails through the air and buries itself in the dirt beside the tree. Gabriel grunts in approval, giving me a nod. "next time, don't focus so much on where you want it to go. instead, imagine it going there, like a needle through water." he advises, waiting for the others to throw
