(Whoa, okay xD I know you're excited, but no need to ping me twice- I'm multitasking rn)
Once you continued, you immediately wished you didn't. The smell got worse, and was a mix of burning ash and rotten... stuff, mixed with even worse things. You grew nauseous and finally, in the distance, you could see what you thought was the origin of the smoke. The land was black, charred to a crisp, and purple and neon green goo splattered the place like a radioactive explosion. In the midst of it all was a pile of stuff, and the stuff was burning in what looked like acidic purple flames.
I plug my nose and slowly advance around the area.

You circle around, avoiding the center. At this distance, the smell was still horrible even though you couldn't make out what the stuff was. You make it to the other side in a couple of hours, your nose begging to die of the smell.

Now on the other side, I turn around and walk away from the weird area.

You walked away from it, but as far as you could see, the land you were walking on was now dead... plants were black and wilted, and the small stream by you ran with an oily substance.

The stream looked contaminated, flooded with sick oily stuff.
