I AM A NATURE NERD.
I know useless things about ants, such as scientific names, founding methods, among other things. Try me on birds, I know things about chickens you can only dream of, 103 degrees farenheit is the blood temperature of a chicken, I can create my own autosexing breed of chickens with my knowledege of chicken genetics, Chickens can in fact fly. i love animals and birds are my favorites.

Wow
This'll be a challenge....
I mean, birds are basically mini flying dinosaurs, how can they not be cool?
So tell me... asking for a friend...
if there are no females in a group of chickens, do one of the females take on a somewhat masculine appearance and behavior?
Autosexing 0-o like that breed of desert lizard that has no males but the females can reproduce on their own??
Would this raised temperature make them more or less susceptible to hypothermia? Like, on the one hand, temperatures are gonna feel colder to them than they do for humans, but then they have those feathers that trap air and heat....
I haven't read Redwall in waaaaaaaay too long... I should pick it up again soon. Gotta say, the first book was probably my favorite :3

1. yes,in an all female situation the top hen will start to act like a male, they will even crow. and in very rare cases they will go through sex reversal and turn into a full male.
2. No, autosexing breeds of chickens do not reproduce through parthenogenesis, that just means that you can tell the gender of the chick at hatching by the color of their feathers, and their is a specific gene that allows this.
3. Hmm, this is a tough one, I am going to sat it makes them less susceptible because the reson they have a higher blood temperature is that is they have a faster metabolism. but if the get wet and its windy they will probably get it. the reason i sya it makes them less susceptible is that they can surivie lower temperatures than humans can, this is only like you said, in conjunction with their feathers which trap heat pockets. then there are different breeds of chickens, the breed will affect the susceptiblity to hypotheria, like the chantecler can live outside in extreme cold however the featherless chicken would die in those conditions but thrive thrive in hot climates where the chantecler would die from heat stroke. although in general it makes them less suceptible it is also very breed dependent and it only works in conjunction with their feathers.
Now questions for you, no looking up answers,
1. what is the difference between autosexing and sex-linked chickens? and what are the genes for these?
2. what is the most commom comb in the chicken world
3, what are the genetics on a walnut comb and which 2 other combs does it need to have the genes for.
4. what is ccd in the bee world
5, what are the 3 main types of founding methods in ants
and finally 6. does parthenogenesis always result in females
