Chapter 7:
Everyone answers the ent's riddle simultaneously, "You're the Sun!" The ent wants to remain angry, but follows through with their promise and with a wave of its staff the vines recede into the dirt. "Fine, the ents of this forest will forgive you for stealing our sacred faelora. You have proven yourselves to be friends of the forest and as such, you may keep my faelora."
As the trees begin to move back into the dense forest you ask, "Wait, sacred faelora? What do you mean?" The ent leader faces the group, "Retrieve all 3 friends of the forest and you will succeed in your mission." Before you can ask any questions the ent twists and turns into a rigid, motionless tree once more. The group looks at Komadori's faelora and Mewzzer's kelpari who are standing majestically on the lake's shore. It is obvious these sylestis were two of three of the animals the ent spoke of, but surely the ent couldnt know about the mission the king sent them on?
After packing up, the group walks down the pathway and turns onto the Western path towards the bridge drawn on the map. On the other side of the bridge lay more mountains, though these ones are covered in ice and snow. Not too high up you can see an opening in the snowy mountainside with a faint, fiery glow. Looking back at the map you can see that the cave is not marked. Either the person who made the map couldn't see the opening or the cave is newer than the map.
With the ent's words in your mind, do you wish to see if the third forest friend is in the mountain cave across the bridge, or does the group continue along the path towards the red X?
What should the group do? A. Go to the fiery cave.
B. Go towards the red X.
This is a group decision.

I say to the cave.
My reasoning is curiosity. It is not marked on the map which peeks my interest. So for curiosity my answer
Is A: to the cave

Okay, just some discussion for now.
The mountain cave is intriguing, but it could be dangerous. Who knows what condition the bridge is in, or what we might encounter on the way up the slopes? Also, consider what might be in the cave:
- the fiery Draeyl who seems to be the final "friend of the forest" we need (see here for an image)
- dragons!
...
- could the Draeyl be one of the "dragons" or one of their babies?
We have found the previous two sylestis in the forest proper. Are the mountains part of the forest, or outside it? What are the chances that we need to continue in the forest area to find the Draeyl?

I'm wondering the same thing as colonelhazard. I'm not sure if the mountain and its cave are a part of the forest or not, and given the pets are forest-based...I'm not sure if leaving the forest would be good. Also we could easily end up stuck over there if something happened to the bridge.

Agree with ColonelHazard and Thrackerzod on the point whether the mountains fit the "friends of the forest" phrase. But the cave has a fiery glow, and the draeyl (which should be based on the example pics like the other two were) has a flaming tail, so the fiery glow might be hinting at the draeyl being there.
True, the cave and the path there is likely to be filled with dangers, but the forest path can be equally dangerous. And we'll never know what we missed in the cave unless we try to go and see.
I'm more inclined towards the cave currently, but i'll withhold from making a final decision just yet.

We have found one sylesti in the forest, one by the lake, so it seems that it would make sense for the last one to be in the cave. My final answer is go into the firey cave.

I think we should check out the cave, so my answer is A.

It seems based on the discussions that we are split 50/50 about the cave however Hemmons does make a point. The faelora was in the forrest and the kelpari was on/in the lake. Why wouldn't the draeyl be in the mountains? Essentially, that means that one creature would belong to a respective area of the forrest.
I believe it would be wise to check the cave. There could be nasties but we have recovered at the lake so fighting them wouldn't be an issue. Also that red glow could be from the draeyl's tail or it could be a campfire of sorts. If we don't check the cave we won't know if it's the draeyl or not.
My suggestion is that we go to the cave for the reasons mentioned above.
My final answer is choice A! Go to the fiery cave.

Well, it seems that the cave is garnering the most votes, and I suppose if we don't check it out we'll never know. So my final answer is A. The Cave.
