Wow... that's like, the opposite of a clownfish....
Ah, okay... that's still really cool, can't say I know anyone that can do that 0-o Guess I have some research to do, then XD
Hmm... that makes sense... dogs have a similar situation
Oh no, I should've studied for this test instead of gaming 0-o
Uh...
uh...
Hmmm...
1)Well, since it has to do with genetics, it probably has to do with... the passing of traits...
Auto means self... so self-repicating? Hmmm... and sex-linked things in humans are, like, hair and eye color... so autosex stuff would be things that replicate themselves in each offspring... independent variables... and sex-linked would be things that change from offspring to offspring... dependent variables....
Though I couldn't tell what genes would be for them :T
2) Well, I've seen a few chickens in my time, and... usually the combs have one row, tho occasionally I see them with two... and are kinda short...the longer ones are ones I don't see as much... and they look like wide-tooth combs...
So short wide-tooth ones with a single row... whatever the heck those are called, there's probably a fancy term I don't know....
3) Oh goodness, biology, my worst subject
Hmmm... walnut comb probably looks like a walnut... At first I wondered if it was something with color, like a black walnut has a green fruit and will dye your hands black if you mess with it... but it would have to specify color for that to be likely...
So going off of the shape of walnuts... it would have to be ones that don't have the single rows... probably at least one longer one... Ummm...
Not sure I can take this much further without specific knowledge on combs :T
4) Oh, my ninth grade science teacher was bee-crazy! Colony Collapse Disorder, it's when a whole bunch of bees just up and leave the colony.
5) Oh boy
Pulling knowledge from that book I read in elementary/middle school...
HMMM
So... I remember generally the queen will shed her wings in a safe spot and lay eggs... I know there are some colonies that will steal pupae from other nearby colonies and raise the new ants as their own... and I know there are these tiiiiiiiiiiny ants that steal food from larger ant colonies because their tunnels are too small for the large ants to fit through...
I also know that some ants in the desert will live in cactuses, and when an ant wants to get in, there's a special sort of 'code' the ant needs, and it'll have to tap the face of an ant blocking the entrance with its antennae to get in (if any of that makes any sense). Probably unrelated but I thought it was cool :3
6) Well, without a male, you don't get the Y gene that's needed to make a male... but... since it's a question... I'm assuming there's some mutation or the like that can occasionally result in a male?

answers
1. the difference is autosexing chickens are breeds and will always breed true where as sex-linked are crosses and will not breed true, the autosexing gene is the barred gene, sex links can be created with the barred and silver genes.
2. the most common comb is the single comb
3. waltnut combs have the genetics of RrPp, RRPP, RRPp, RrPP. they are a combination of rose and pea combs(R and P). not a color a shape
4. yay one right, well there is also absconding which is similar but different. CCD only occurs when there is no reason for them to just dissapear, absconding usually only happens when the bees are living in horrible conditions
5. the three founding methods are fully claustral, semi- claustral and parasitic. fully claustral ants need no food during the founding period, and they raise their own brood by themselves, semi-claustral ants are basically the same as fully claustral except they need food, and parasitic queen ants infiltrate a host colony and kill the queen then have the host colony worker ants raise their brood.
6. you got this one sorta right, yes their are species that parthenogenisis results in males, like bees, ants, and komodo dragons. but its not a mutation.
Did I beat the nerdiest nerd at nature??????? I am sure you would destroy me at video games though

Also in other types animals, like birds, the female has the gender-deciding gene, which is why they can produce males.

Well, you just taught me a whole bunch, so I'll get 'em next time >wo
I can give you a little gamer quiz if you'd like ^w^ Don't feel pressured to answer if ya don't want to, a few of these are kind of obscure
1) What is the function of World IK?
2) What company was founded by Nintendo developer Masahiro Sakurai?
3) In the MegaMan game series, robots are not allowed to harm people, yet MegaMan was able to choose to make an attempt on Dr. Wiley's life. What did MegaMan say to justify this?
4) What is the name of the genre of the game Super Mario Bros.?
5) What does "gg no re" mean?

That's alright X3 Who knows, maybe you'll find some of this cool!
1) World IK is something that's actually used in a lot of things, animations as well as video games. FK, or forward kinematics, are movements coded in by people, and IK, or inverse kinematics, are made by computers guessing how to get something from one position to another. World IK is the computer guessing how things like characters in a video game should be positioned in relation to the world around them, i.e. instead of their hands floating off of a wall while climbing, the floating hand attaches to a wall automatically. (If World IK fails, it can have some odd and somewhat catastrophic effects, from vibrating and floating entities to upside down or twisted characters. Sometimes, because the game doesn't know where the feet are supposed to go, characters won't move at all. My favorite effect, though, is when a character flicks to line up with a nonexistent wall so fast that they can just walk through walls. So good -w-)
Oh goodness I rambled way too long... gonna keep the others shorter 0-o
2) Sakurai founded Sora, a very small company. They once had a deal with Nintendo and created something called Project Sora, which was mostly owned by Nintendo....
3) MegaMan is a blue robot hero from the game MegaMan (creative, I know). His justification for being able to kill was, in the slowest text scroll known to gaming, "I AM MORE THAN A ROBOT".
4) The genre is 2D platformer, because it's 2D, and you jump from platform to platform. For every new console Nintendo makes, they make sure at least one of the launch titles (games to buy along with the new console) are a classic 2D Mario game.
5) "gg no re" means "Good game, no rematch"
Hehe... can you tell I have no life? XD
