after awhile of practicing with out spears, Gabriel calls the training to a halt, pulling forth the book from before. "before you fight an enemy it's imperative you know who you're fighting. the creatures that attacked you are called stalkers" he explains, glancing down at the book. "they are descended from a breed of wildcat that's since gone extinct called the cougar. they hunt in groups of two or three, usually made up of siblings and or mates. the two that attacked you were brothers, and they usually hunt with a third partner, their sister. they attack the stragglers, either those too far in front of the group or too far behind. one of them starts the attack and the other one jumps in to finish the job" he reads, pausing to turn the page "the best tactic for them is to fight in a circle, covering all sides except your head. they wont drop down directly on you, because that leaves their weakest point in the open; their stomachs"

"So stay in a circle and target their stomachs," Asmodeus murmurs. "Got it."

Vitalus nods his head.

"correct" gabriel says "however, if you do not want to deal with stalkers, carry a dead animal with you. they do not like dead animals that they haven't killed, because it's the signal for a predator or deadzone being nearby"

"noted" i say, shifting. the near mention of deadzones makes me anxious. those things are terrible.

"stalkers aren't the only thing out there" he warns, flipping over a few pages. "there are grazers, too. they are tall, extremely tall. around my size. they're skinny, but they can be ride one, should someone be able to addle one up, they're herbivores, that doesn't mean they aren't dangerous. they are descended from a species called "deer" and are brown with large white patches. both the male and female have antlers, and aside from being able to stab you with those, they also kick like a horse" he explains "i wouldn't recommend trying to tame one of them, they're easily spooked. any questions?" he asks, looking up from the book at the crowd.

ohh my i say scared we've got alot to look out for ....

Asmodeus shakes his head.

Vitalus nods his head at Gabriel.

"ok, so aside from stalkers and grazers, what else are there?" i ask, trying to discretely look over the top of the book in his hand.

"snakes are a big problem, they've only gotten more venomous since all their prey got bigger. don't stick your hands under rocks or in holes, that's where they like to hide" he explains, flipping through pages before stopping "oh, and there's lobo. don't mess with lobo. they hunt in packs and sometimes they kill stalkers. they look like big dogs, at first. but their eyes are bigger, and their fur is usually darker to blend into the forest. not to mention their howl, it's haunting. it you here it, get out of there.
