They are sooo cute!
I see what you mean a little, SpaceElf, but the vorpa still look most like a Vaporeon to me.
Ah, well. We see what we like, eh?
Those axolotls ARE cute, though!

Oh SpaceElf, they're adorable! Okay, yes, I've accepted axolotls as real life Vorpas now. The second picture reminds me of the little cute (and deadly) aliens from Galaxy Quest:

It's probably the teeth! (Though I can't tell if the axolotls have teeth or just a good impression of them in that picture)

They do have teeth, Celuwen; they are carnivores. However, their teeth are for holding, not cutting. You could get a bad bruise from the bite of a really, really big one, but that's about it. And you are not likely to get bitten if you just remember they can't see well and may bite if you startle them.

Now I am missing my pet axolotl, Laban Shrewsbury, even though he died many years ago. Perhaps I'll get another one.

This is nice little non-profit that is all about helping people take good care of their pet axolotls.

Remember--

1. They can't see well, so don't scare them.

2. They are very curious but not too smart. Give them safe things to explore and investigate plus a tight-fitting lid on their tank.

3. Never handle them with dry hands.

MistDragon, it wouldn't surprise me if Vaporeon was inspired, in part, by salamanders, newts, and axolotls. No offense to Vaporeon, but the Caudata have been around at least 161,000,000 years longer than Vaporeon has.

Aww, those Axolotls ^.^

SQWEE!

- Also, even though Pokemon loses the contest when it comes to time-scales, its world was heavily inspired by evolution: particularly entomology. So it gets brownie points because insects.

Since I'm an opportunist, I bought up like a jillion underpriced philters off the broker because lol Advent Calendar, so I've decided I want to officially start a vorpa stat breeding project. Unless the community has a strong partiality for a certain other theme, I'll be doing this with my Sunsong Gazanias. I don't know if a max-stat vorpa project has ever been attempted, but regardless, I'm doing it. (Who says Fables should have all the fun?)

Anyway, I'm pinging because I'd like to know if anyone else is interested in it, and if so, what traits you'd most like to see for the endgame. I have at least one PB with every trait available during Sunsong's release except for Water Sprite, so anything else is doable. Odds are, the final generation will not be completely homogeneous in terms of traits, but I can work in higher probabilities of certain trait combinations.

Any contributions, such a philters, pies, or PB offspring with desired traits to widen the gene pool, would be greatly appreciated. All contributors will receive offspring from the project as a thank you gift.

I have a personal taste for these traits, but I like nearly all of them, so...

What say you, vorpa enthusiasts? You game?

Heh, thanks for buying my philters, SparklingGanymede! ^.^

I must confess this thing...I have no idea about stat breeding. I mean, I assume that it's all about getting high base stats in the eventual offspring, but I have plenty of questions. For instance, what is max for a babeh? And how do the parents affect the rise of the stats? In what increments do they rise? All mysteries to me.

But! I will help if I can, of course. ^.^

Welcome to the fold, Absoluteinsanity! And huzzah for your shinies!

Everyone else...if you ever want to make yourself sad, go check out the search entry for themed, released Sylvorpas. I am trying to contact some of the owners who still play in an attempt to buy back a handful of the rascals with diamonds. There's a player in particular who has released themed Sylvorpas of nearly every kind, still plays, and insists on being left alone...which is a bummer. But! I'm going to try to save a few!

I have a SS vorpa you can breed with, if you'd like.
you're welcome to breed with Sunfire
Just let me know if you want to, okay?

I have two sunsongs, but I think I'm going to end up both gendering and disrupting the un-named male. So I don't want to breed him yet.

Spark, I was actually preparing to do a stat-breeding project myself, but this is better. If you're gonna go for Max Stats, my Philters and my Sunsongs are at your disposal...though may I suggest some different trait combinations? I don't have all these traits among my Sunsongs, by any means. However, most of my Sunsong Purebreds were helped to hatch, so they have slightly boosted Health already.

Anyhow, the Bio-luminescent Wings make the Bio-luminescent Spines hard to see. Submitted for your consideration--these possible alternatives.

Max stat pets are fighting pets, so let's give them some armor--

Varieation #1

Also, I think the Gene One and Gene Two Henna work really well together in the Sunsongs, and the Iridescence doesn't overwhelm the other two Genes.

Don't care for armor? How about Leafy Seadragon Fins, Mystic Fins, or Sea Fur? Those are easy to see, regardless of the wings--

My personal favorite is #2.
