Jaz jumped in putting a hand on Alex's shoulder trying to get him to shut up. She smiled at the wasp. "What this idiot is trying to say as that the chest had a dart in it and that he cannot use it as a weapon, especially nothing deadly."

She hoped that the wasp wouldn't feel any more threatened and asked Alex, "What else did you see in the box?"

Kua-Rashianaka

"Well okay then." She took out her sword. "I've been meaning to ask you, Oran, what did you mean about becoming my ally? Not like I would, but I want to know what the hexes you were thinking."

"I'm not an idiot, I assure you that I aced my classes... Well, most of them." Alex says, studying the dart before tossing it to the side. The wasp watches Alex, calculating the boy's every move. "And there was a few daggers, a torch, and a septer thing." Alex says, reaching in the chest and holding out the septer.
The wasp buzzes with excitment. "We have been looking for that for years! Hand that thing over, we'll let you take the rest of whatever is in the chest - and all your keys back - and a safe pass through our kingdom." The wasp says in its halting way.

"Well, you could be one of my helpful helpers. You'd do a certain task for me and come when I call. Really, not a bad trade since no monster can hurt you or touch you when you've allies with me. Offers still on the table of you want." Oran says cheerfully, pulling out his own broadsword. This one had a dark black blade and seemed to suck light inside it. It had strange runes that glowed - you probably guessed it - green.

Kua-Rashianaka

"Hmm" she looked up before sneering, "Nah. I'd rather not be a servant." She smiled holding up her broadsword to her face.

"And so it shall be." Oran says, readying his own broadsword. He pauses when Nikkie races between the two of you.
"You guys, let's not attack each other. Because I'm rather attatched to Kua and don't want her to die, and, Oran, you can go away." Nikkie says. "Leave us alone. We want to go home. Well, Kua wants to go home, so I'm going to help get her there."
"Right. You have no home... That offer is still there too. Unless you die again. Either choice is up to you." Oran says, shooing Nikkie away. Nikkie takes three big steps back from Oran, afraid that the green monster would take him over again.

Jaz examined the wasp carefully. "So you're telling me if we give you the septer, we get to keep everything else and a safe pass." She thought for a second with a frown. "Promise?" She said crossing her arms. The deal sounded too good to be true and she wasn't quite sure what the septer even did or frankly why it was even locked up in the first place.

"Promise." The wasp buzzes, it lunges forward surprisingly quick and grasps the septer in its forelegs. "Mine. Hahaha." The wasp lifts off, almost taking Alex with it. Other wasps began to buzz next to it. The wasps acted really excited. The wasps were heading inside their hive, probably to go to their queen. Only a few wasps were guarding, and they would let you go past - as the other wasp had promised.
Alex gets up and rubs his rump, which he had landed on. "That wasp has no manners." Then he laughs and turns to the keys. The keys slowly start disappearing to where they had come. Alex slipped the key that had worked into his pack. Everything that was left in the chest was up for grabs.
"... There wasn't just some daggers and a torch. There was also a note. Probably came with the scepter. Seems to be some sort of warning." Alex says quietly, holding up a small torn and tattered old note.
It was written in some sort of runes.

Jaz nodded. "We should probably take the daggers and the torch, who knows what else we'll find in this labyrinth." She squinted at the note trying to see if she could make sense of any of the runes. "But we should probably take it in head out first and then decipher the note later."

Well, this is definitely not what I was expecting to happen. I whisper to myself. Im tempted to flee, but that would be rude. I keep walking with them, but I keep my hand on my weapon at all times.
