Perhaps a way to mitigate some of the breeders atm is to make it so you cannot breed unless there is space in your stables. I know you talked about this before and it never became a thing. It would stop the mass breeder i mentioned above. If you had only 5 spaces say you could only breed 5 pets. Might be an option while you are getting breeding grounds ready to launch

Breeding pets if my favorite part of this game. I breed pets that, to me, are pleasing to the eye, but. my main goal if for a pet to be able to cary me through boss battles. That means breeding many generations with prismatics, ect to max out the stats and look BEAUTIFUL!! Maxing and Super maxing can be expensive but is necessary process. I breed my pets with a ultimate goal to it's conclusion. There are those who just breed, breed, breed for no reason but that they can. This is not good in any form as stated by Katty. I agree with her 100%. Krin works endlessy so that we have a great experience while playing, but must also protect what he has built. I'm leary abot the breeding fee, which my daughter has already posted and I agree with her 100% as well. In the end Krin has a difficult job but if something doesn't work he fixes it. We just have to wait and see what the results will ne and go from there!!!

Krin, THANK YOU for your dedication to Sylestia & May Sylestia grow and give playes fun and enjoyment for Many, Many, YEARS from now!!!!

On behalf of a player that joined the game in 2018 played for a few weeks, (maybe a month or six) and then only really came back to finding this game about 2-3 weeks ago maybe less.

I for one apreciate the low costing sales from others, the low breeding costs depending on rarity, (I'm guessing that will change slightly).

But I guess I'm here to say - Sorry for breeding dishwaters...
Is it not right to put two random (same species) creatures together to see what they
make, I thought that was one of the whole points of this type of game ?

(I know I am not one for having bred thousands of pets, I have to my knowledge never
even released one.... mind you if I had worked out how to catch from wild...
or remember, so much I once new how to do in this game I have forgotten....
Anyone - with help as to how to even get past the Nightbandit campsite mission would
be lovely, Thank you.

Thanks Krin, This game is worth the work one needs to put in it to play, agree getting
everything without having to work for it would be boring (but the endless grinding gets
the better of me sometimes). But it is worth it.

A call out to all those whose pets I have purchased overtime or who gave me pets or
ran games in which I won them as prizes. Thanking you so much.

My single question still has not been answered. Will all pets currently up for public breeding be automatically carried over to the new breeding market? Or will everything have to be re-done manually?

There is no reason to apologize for playing the game how you want to play it and how I allow it to be played. You have nothing to be sorry about. =)

As long as someone isn't doing something to be malicious, you are entirely within your rights to play Sylestia however you see fit and in whatever way brings you joy - that's the entire point of its existence.

However, my job as the dev is to make sure things are fair and balanced for all. Sometimes there are loopholes that get created or, over time, people figure out things to take advantage of the lack of a certain restriction. When this happens, I need to step in and decide what's best for the game so that things remain fair and balanced. I believe a basic breeding fee is one of those circumstances.

I really think it's getting blown out of proportion a bit and it's why I am always very shy to discuss changes before they are 100% concrete and implemented. I really don't think the fee will cause much of a disturbance at all unless you are breeding thousands of pets per month and don't have a hoard of Gold - this is an extremely, extremely small amount of players. And for those players, I do not think it's the end of the world - they'll just have to make some adjustments and either focus a little more on Gold farming (like spending an extra hour per month) or focus a little more on breeding pets that have a good chance of being viable for their goals - all of which are entirely within the expected realms of playing the game.

If it helps, also keep in mind the realism aspect of it. I would love to see someone in real life set up a breeding farm where they are housing, feeding, breeding, and nurturing literally thousands and thousands of pets without spending a single penny. =P A basic fee to care for both the parents and the offspring during its childhood is entirely within expectations. The game doesn't require any upkeep on pets in your Hatchery and some literally keep a revolving door of thousands of pets in their Hatchery. This is something that should have been in the game on day 1.

I do not plan on on manually converting the current system to the new as there will be a lot of new parameters and systems required on the new system.

So players will have to set them up again on the new system once it's implemented.

Som's question is a very important one. This will mean all of the pets from inactive users will disappear from public breeding. :-(. I will definitely set up more pets for breeding once the new system is in.

As for the breeding fee, I will definitely give it a shot but I won't lie and say that I'm not worried about it. I don't like LG. I play on a tablet. Every move is a double click so it takes forever to get around. It isn't fun for me. Hopefully I can make enough from missions. I do have a gold stash (mostly due to a couple of festivals back when gold was given out for unused items) so I'll survive while I try and figure out the best way to adjust. I am worried that this will be a "you must do LG chest runs (and good luck with rng)" kind of thing. I don't think that is an unreasonable worry.

I know Krin is a reasonable and infinitely patient dev, so I'm not going to freak out (just wimper a bit in the corner) and will see how it all works out. :-P

excited about the changes. can't say i understand why breeding needs to be limited but it sounds lots of really great things i've been wanting will be added. i have made so many charts comparing pet's traits and this will help a lot lol

pls find a way to keep currently listed pets up for breeding though. there's so many pretty inactive pets out there that would be gone. that would be a big problem for me

phew, Im finaly at the end of the thread, reading all of these was just like a 1 mile mud trek. So, I agree with both sides and is against both sides... which is confusing. Let me make this long story short and not a book long... (Skip to summary if tired of reading)

Against the fee:Yes, it is not wrong like what Urban said, to see what one male and one female can make (not in the disgusting way) as I sometimes do this too. Some pets can be disappointing and some can look pretty. Look at my stables, There's a puffadore named Xyria who I adore and her children are pretty. I am trying to do projects too and prismas, mutators, breeding, very expensive. I agree with others, everyone's way of playing is unique, everyone is created differently. And Krin can just delete old pets or, I remember Krin thinking of a pound before where pets no one wants is put there and can be adopted and put back again. But then again, Krin is a human and cannot do all things at once or do those things cuz of busy life. Krin is not an Ai either as he also has a life. Not everyone likes change, but change is good and good things comes with a cost. And this is where I start my next stand (with these paragraphs, I'll be the top one in English xD)

With The Fee: Yes this fee is good too, because some people breed like crazy, like for example, 1 person currently has 127,030 pets. A lot right? *~* And most of that person's pets are dishwater pets. This is just an example but could happen. Anyways like Krin says, the fee would be like no more then 5% of your gold. Like 10 or 20k enough to scare the newbies, litlle enough to be an black ant bite for project doers (Black ants don't even bite! I think....) And we can just get gold from missions, Lg chests, and everywhere in the map!(Kill two birds with one stone fact: You can earn gold by lvling up project max stat pets in the 1st region, the region without fake chests) The fee might still be a lot to players cuz their money was spent on other stuff like Lg barracks, fests, projects etc, but hey you have pets right? Lvl them until at least lvl 10/15, put 'em on missions and ta-da you have gold! Even if its a little bit of gold, you can just rinse and repeat until their a sufficient level for Sanctuary Barracks!(See? You can get exp from missions. Fun! That's how I'm level 71 tho my party are still lvl 66. Overall, if you look behind the fee, the changes to the breeding grounds are better and easier to breed!

Summary: Everyone is correct but also wrong. Im on both sides and against both sides. Krin is a human not an Ai. The Breeding Ground update is cool and the fee is just an ant bite. What's the worry anyway, the fee is just a small change compared to the others. Krin and other site mods and devs are good guys cuz they are making the new breeding grounds and you guys are just complaining about the fee. (honestly, they def need to add a fee for their hard work) Im grateful not perfect and just wanna break up the fight. If anyone wants to still argue or complain, about this, ping me. I wanna see this as the last complaining post and the rest of the posts from now on are grateful and question/suggestion posts. Sorry if I sound rude or mean but I just wanted to say this. And now I conclude this post. :)

(PS: I need help with my Duat Rikki project. Dm if can help)

I like all these proposed and planned Breeding Grounds changes, including the fee! I've had many projects over my sporadic and haitus-ridden years of Sylestia - there's plenty of ways to earn currency to offset those costs, in my opinion, and the mentioned Breeding Grounds helpers and an overarching skill tree in the future? Amazing. Everytime I come back for a Sylestia fixation I'm always impressed and excited by new changes.

I do agree it will be unfortunate to lose the public breedings set up by inactive players who may have rare themes, traits, etc available, but I think a community effort to get those traits and themes back into the gene pool will be just as fun as well :). I know I'll be sure to stick around to add anything I can back into public Breeding for that reason.

I'm definitely excited for this upgraded Breeding Grounds
