Okay, I don't know who all would want in on this hypothetical ping list, so I just pinged everybody who has posted in the thread so far.

Anyway, I have no leftover summer fest items to contribute to prize efforts, but I do have a few raid drops and some essences.

I'm also willing to shell out a full set of experience orbs and a set of level 50 mythical equipment as a prize in honor of the Megazone opening. I'm willing to oversee whatever contest that might involve, but I'm thinking maybe something like a bandit story contest? Or an art contest. Runners-up can be awarded legendary or level 25 sets of equipment. Heck it, I'll do both! I actually have enough armor stashed back to do it.

A pick-a-door and a frankenpet sounds a great idea! What type of prizes would we put in a pick-a-door, though? And what level of essence would we use for the frankenpet?

I like the idea of bandits stealing themed offspring. I can contribute a few! ^^ I'll need to know a little ahead of time, though, so I can make sure they all have vis or at least 2-carry.

As far as the factions idea goes, I was thinking there could either be some mass contest like a scavenger hunt or a competition for highest raid scores (whichever faction gets the highest cumulative score by the end of the week wins a prize).

How many factions should there be? Two? Three? Four? (If it was four, we could align them with stat attributes.)

Just wanted to clarify, what you're proposing is a generalized festival event?
With Nightfall Day inside of it? Or is the whole festival bandit-themed, or there's just a bunch of things happening throughout the week?

Because I was wondering what the factions were. Like if they were supposed to be bandit-related, bandit-affiliated, fighting against the bandits, etc. x: It might be easier to figure out how many factions there are depending on what the factions would be meant for. If there's no real reason, 2-3 would be just fine, if not any at all, depending on what contests there would be for the factions.

I'd donate some enhanced essences for a frankenpet depending on the demand (they're not as fun with regulars essences imo, but I definitely have way more regular essences if we wanted quantity over quality). I also have some old cheap avatar items from the past fests saved up, I can see if I can chip in.

I can also donate some time for writing NPC-ish dialogue for interactive games or games that need intros, since I might be better at that aha.

And an off-thought: by the time this event comes to fruition, I don't think it'd be summer anymore. ;w; I consider September a back-to-school month that's kinda in Fall territory, not quite close to Halloween, but pretty far from beach days and fun in the sun.

I think it would be cool to not associate this user event to any season at all, but name it something unique. This entire year has been pretty unique (Spring was practically bleeding into Summer anyways). It should be its own event to remember. c: Which is why I liked Nightfall Bandit Day, since it didn't really need to fall anywhere within a certain season by name (and you could call it anything, like "Advent of the Nightfall Bandits" or something if it extended past a day).

For factions, how about Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Light, and Dark?

I volunteer to run the "Where In Sylestia Are the Stolen Pets?" and also a smaller thing with Summer Rose Bears as the prizes. I happen to have a spare Bear of each color. In this game, I'll post an image of each Bear being stolen by a Nightfall Bandit. All Nightfall Bandits look a bit different; female or male, color of skin, hair, and eyes, sword or staff, hairstyle, etc. The idea is, each person wanting to win a Bear must fight real Nightfall Bandits during the Festival. If the player finds themselves fighting a Bandit that resembles one who has stolen a Bear, they take two screenshots: one shows them fighting the Bandit, the other shows that their party defeated those Bandits. They post the screenshots on the contest thread. At the end of the week, the player whose defeated Bandit most closely resembles a Bear thief wins that Bear.

That second one may not seem like much of a contest, but I think that if we don't over-commit ourselves we can actually pull this off!

I like having the factions compete for highest cumulative raid score. It's simple and easy.

Spark, for your Megazone opening contest, how about a "short answer" kind of story contest? For each round, you ask a "This or that?" type of question. Each participant has to not only answer but explain why they think their answer is correct. Here's an example (not a very good one, because it's just off the top of my head, but it gets the idea across).

Question #1 Who would win in a fistfight, Captain James Kirk or Captain Malcolm Reynolds?

Player 1: "Captain Reynolds would win, because he has military training but is also a criminal, with all that experience, while Captain Kirk just has military training."

Player 2: "Captain Reynolds would win because he's meaner than Captain Kirk."

Player 3: "Captain Kirk would win because Captain Reynolds does all his fighting with a pistol, while Captain Kirk has lots of hand-to-hand fighting experience."

Then the judge(s) would decide, not who is right, but who gave the best, most creative explanation of their opinion.

Note to everyone: During the first week of September, I will have little to no Internet access. We do, after all, need to plan when we are doing this.

(Pinging everyone who responded to this thread)

Much support for this bandit festival! I don't think it needs to be seasonal based; this way we can incorporate multiple themed, items, etc. I like Spelf's idea for the proficiency based teams. The only issue is that we'd need to incorporate enough players per team, and make sure that they are even. It might even be easier to have less teams in this regard, but who knows!

I can donate some regular essences, experience orbs, avi items and themed pets.

I would also be happy to help write any RP elements needed (as Flute was saying; dialog or mood setting for the games)

I have 3 spare mythical level armors (Two Revenant's Relics and one Primalist's Armor) I can contribute to a prize pool, as well as a few themed I could breed (Or they could have actual themed as I have quite a few Bird of Paradise Vorps I wouldn't mind getting rid of).

As for when it happens, I don't really care as long as its at least a few days so that everyone has the opportunity to play. I would recommend, once we have things squared away, to post a 'full fest' forum topic separate from this one like the normal fest's do, and direct both Krin and Fae at it so that the can (if they want to) promote it with a sitewide ping.

I really love the idea of a site wide scavenger hunt for a bandit that looks like the ones randomly generated that took the rose bears.

Spelf, I love that summer bear idea -- almost like a mini version of the scavenger hunts run during official fests!

It seems to me that for planning and organization, an off-site platform like Trello (or Slack) might be useful in order to plan different games and event ideas. I could set one up, if anyone is interested, but I don't have time to be the grand mastermind behind the whole festival. It seems it might be useful to have one point person who can round up everyone else's ideas and keep track of what the overall experience should look like. Any volunteers?
