Well on the description it called him a spirit born child. But in the pic he is bending fire.

I think for the purpose of the role play you can just make it up. So long as you don't intend on selling the rp story to someone, using the character shouldn't be an issue so you shouldn't hesitate to make any changes you feel are necessary.
