Huzzah, I always do a lot of the cooking on Thanksgiving, and thankfully noticed this post before I started.
Cranberry Sauce
The secret.. actual cranberries! :p
Don't they look delicious?
The finished sauce!
Mashed Potatoes
Tater supplies.
Prepped taters.
For when you want delicious potatoes.. nownownownow
Plenty of butter.
For optimal texture, whip 'em good.
Green Bean Casserole
I always make a green bean casserole on Thanksgiving.
Just some fried onions swimming in milk.
After the casserole is baked for a while, it gets topped with more onions.
Honey Ham
I'm not a huge fan of turkey, so I cooked ham instead.
Warmed ham being coated in glaze powder.
After being broiled to liquefy the glaze, the ham certainly looks scrumptious.
Bread Rolls
I didn't make this dough, technically, but these rolls are not "from a package" ready to eat either. They have to be thawed for a few hours and baked. They're part of the meal regardless so I included the pictures anyway.
A little butter mid-baking added tasty flavor, I learned last year not to add the butter too soon. Overcooked butter makes rolls taste awful.
(I made the pie from scratch, but I made it yesterday. Oops.)
Aaaand.. that's the whole meal! I'm happy I was able to share it with you all, as well as my family. I guess this is the closest I can get to having Sylestia over to my house for dinner.

I didn't have time to get all the pictures I wanted to because I was running late and cooking all the at the same time the moment I woke up and wasn't even close to ready xD
^Ham! We pulled it from the oven like 10 minutes before I saw this post haha.
^Deviled eggs, which I actually decided to make because of this post at last minute. Thankfully my sister helped peel eggs before she went to get ready.
^Biscuits made from scratch (a super easy recipe of just flour, butter, and cold water. I'm surprised they kept their shapes!)
I think the aliens would love to try some of these traditional foods for thanksgiving! Also explaining why the eggs are called deviled and where the food comes from would be interesting haha. Also finding out what the aliens eat on their home planet! Hmm that would be interesting to see. Maybe they'd have some weird alien birds that lay scaly blue eggs, their ham could be huge monster boars the size of mammoths, and their biscuits would grow on bushes and taste like honey :P Haha I have no idea. This was fun.
EDIT: OH MY ZEUS. You can see my cat's paw prints on the stove >:( She does it when everyone is sleeping cause she can't get caught hahah. Sorry ._.

so I had the bread and dressing already made before the contest was posted... however,
Image heavy please allow to load
Item 1. Bread with spinach vegetable dip, and water chestnuts. Made with one can of chopped chestnuts, frozen spinach, and greek yogert, with sour cream and mayonnaise.
Item 2. Sweet Potato Casserole. Boil sweet potatoes, strain, cool off before peeling, smash together with brown sugar and cinnamon, butter, 100% Maple syrup, top with marshmallow and praline.
Item 3. Savory Stuffing - Use chicken stock instead of water and add french onion butter.
Item 4. Not really made by hand - but the glaze was Ham with 100 percent maple syrup and brown sugar glaze
finally everything together

It was a haha (a joke), not a hows it made request. ;) Canned pumpkin actually doesn't come from the kind of pumpkins we typically carve, but a hybrid pumpkin specifically grown for that purpose. You can make a pumpkin pie from the carvers, but you won't actually make the yummy thing from the can, since it isn't from the same type of pumpkin at all. ;)

Ember here, I ah invited them in but it seemed they weren't used to cold climates so I gave them a blanket...
So far so good, they're on the couch in my living room and so we started with the Turkey as the time to cook was very long...
Working on side dishes now, stuffing... well, some of it.
Finally the candied yams... and something tells me they may like this, as well as green bean casserole!
They're eating now and it looks like they're enjoying it. Wishing everybody a happy Thanksgiving, and to those who don't celebrate I hope you're having a good day!
