(please excuse that i apparently do not know what month it is. I knew this semester was rough...but I guess it was rougher than I thought!)
I may add more, but I wanted to post the finished egg at least first since idk if I ahve time to complete what else I want to do lol.
Everything is hand sewn :D The egg is made out of a super super soft fur, the hand and feathers are made of fleece. Mama Rikki is made of the same materials, just with grey fur instead of white. Her eyes and feathers are made of fleece as well. The egg is a bit oversized, which is a throwback to when the rikkis first came out and the eggs were /huge/. Mama is a /tad/ bit protective of her egg. Must be all the puffs i ahve wandering in my room. -pats Glitch and Terra affectionately-
Egg panels sketched out and ready to cut
Cut Panels
The fingers are, i fact, the right lengths. This image just...makes it look liek they aren't lol. It does not hav an elongated pinky i promise!
Halfway done!
Egg says "Hi!"
Its so soft and fluffy! (have I mentioned yet I am in love with this fur? no? Well, I am <3 itssosofticantstoppetting)
Starting the feathers
Feather closeup! I tried to make them as detailed as possible.
Finished eggy!
and some clsoeups:
EDIT: Phew. barely finished my Mama Rikki in time! (I apologize for how many pics there are lol)
Pieces cut for Mama Rikki
Sewing done for the body
All stuffed and ready fr details!
Added on her feathers and ears. (Also cameo appearances by my little foxy Database, my first puff Terra, and even Glitchy the Judgmental Puff hiding in the blankets in the background xD )
Final MAma Rikki!

Here is the Album that contains all of the photos if you want to view them all. I'm just going to post links to the mainly different steps here for my computer's sanity (and therefor mine xD ). (I ended up getting them all in here, I think..) :3
(Nooooooooo....... >o< browser crashed when I was more than half way through typing this up and for some reason my Copy memory got deleted? o_O So, time to start posting things in tiny sections again... >_< )
When I came here on the 1st investigating a ping, I read the original post and immediately ran and grabbed the last undecorated boiled egg, relieved that the many "random" "unrelated" "minor" events that led to the possibility of one being left undecorated had happened. >w> And thus my long quest began...
Upon acquiring my egg, I measured and sketched out some feathers and proceeded to colour them. Slowly. Because the gel type pens I was using to colour everything with needed time to set and dry. Lots of time. @_@ But more on that later.
Added some texturing. I don't know if you can see it very well in the photos...
As I added some defining lines (because those are needed to break up all those bright colours so you can tell what it all is :3 ), I figured I could start on colouring the egg. If I had known that it was going to take over 72 hours for the gel to dry on the egg, I would have started it first. D_D;;
Time to start work on the lighter side of the feathers and add the pink to the eye on the egg. ^_^ I think I may have missed uploading 1 or 2 of the photos, but there's not time to go back now. ^_^; (It's okay though because they were just colour additions to the light side of the feathers. ^_^ )
Sneaking in a mysterious yellow rectangle amongst the feather colouring. >w>
Adding defining lines...
The yellow rectangle dried before everything else, so I cut it out and into 4 smaller rectangles.
Which I rolled up with glue and bent. And then had to dry. TuT;
Viola, fingers! ^w^ While they were drying, I coloured the eye's sclera with silver because I knew it would show up as white in the photo (and I had no white ^D^; ). ;3
Finally! The time has come to cut out the feathers and begin assembling everything! ^0^ (The lighter side of the feathers.)
Assemble the egg, feathers, and fur, and we have a Ferrikki Eggling! ^D^ I had so much mysterious trouble making this Eggling stand up right. o_O I had to prop it up using the blanket I was using as a backdrop. ^D^; I tried to do it so as much of the Eggling was visible as possible but some still got covered. :/ Hopefully that's still okay. ^_^; I made this Eggling in the Generator to help me with the designing of the real Eggling to complement the fur I had ^w^ :
And then it started getting ready to hatch! ^D^ I had trouble again getting it to stand up right and even more trying to get it to stand up right facing so that the one curled feather would show right. xD The fingers are actually holding some of the fur aside because I love details like that. ^w^;
Here's the above Generator Eggling getting ready to hatch :3 :

Alright, so part of me thought to bake or cook something for the entry this year, last year's crocheted egg didn't go very well. However, I felt determined to try and make something presentable this year. I chose to do an Aeridini egg seeing that it is Springtime.
Here is the start of things, the beginning of the petals.
Took a break to start on the leaves.
Once the petals were done I decided to put a light purple edging on them. This was purely to make the separate petals more distinct since actual Aeridini eggs don't have this detail.
Now that the petals and leaves are done I needed to make a base for it all.
The start of attaching the petals to the base.
Now to attach the leave to the base. Nearly done now...
There you have it, a charming Aeridini egg nestled atop some tulle fabric I had to make it more presentable.
But wait, theres more! A nice surprise inside the egg. Granted I did rearrange it after opening it. xD (NOTE: I am only now seeing the terrible quality of this photo. Unfortunately the chocolate bunny has since been eaten so...this is what you get. :/)
