I'm a bit confused, do we pick which vice we want to play as or which we want to be companions with??

which Vice's world you wish to live in so yes kind of witch vice would be your companion. Essnetialyl your character was created by this vice to live in that vice's world and build it up to be a powerful nation.

You wake up in a softly lit room. There were so many silks and fabrics covering the floor that they reached your knees. The smell of hundreds of different dishes filled the air. On a sofa chair, you could see a large woman she was eating grapes but there was a table off to the side with more food than even 100 people could ever eat. She smiled at you and beckoned you closer.

Groggily he sat up, looking about the room his eyes landing on the woman. Who was she? When she beckoned he didn't hesitate to answer her standing as he approached her. Once he reached her he knelt before her looking up at her.
