A question: I had heard that in previous years, it was allowed to freely generate pets with Valentine Lace during the Week of Love. Is that no longer available?

Edit: Because when I attempt to generate a Sylesti with Lace, it reads as an invalid trait.

Hi Krin!

So I can't combine candy hearts after the fest. Was this intentional? Last year, we were able to combine afterwards, and I've checked the overview: there is no mention of this change. I have lots of hearts to use up. If this was intentional, a little warning would be appreciated :)

Thanks!

Same question as Bunne! I was gifted a couple of hearts, so I bought the remaining I needed to make a set.... and nope, can't make it! Was this intentional?

If you mouseover the hearts themselves, it says they can only be used during the fest.

We understand that what we are asking is why it changed from last year when you could use the sets after the fest ended (but of course, could not collect anymore in-game, only by the trade broker).

Yes-ish.

So, the last couple of Festivals, I've been trying to tie Festival items together into their own little Festival Item Pools in the database so that I can vastly more easily manage them from year to year. Prior, it's hours and hours of all sorts of maintenance to handle the items as everything has to be done by hand.

So I kinda injected a system into the already existing systems that easily allows me to categorize Festival specific items and then that allows me to do things easily like control what happens to them after a Festival ends, all automatically, as well as eventually just auto purge them all out of the system before the next year's Festival begins.

Generally, it's not an issue as with things like the seasonal Festivals, there's no purpose to any of these items once the Festival ends as all of the relative features are no longer accessible.

However, the Candy Hearts are obviously different as they don't require a feature to use them.

So for now, I went ahead and removed the Candy Hearts from this categorization so that they can be used at this moment. I will have to put in something alternative for items like Candy Hearts to where they maybe expire after 3-6 months after their respective event ended.

The reason why I don't want them use-able forever is that it messes things up. One way is if I go to re-use the item the following year, the old ones have to be purged out so that everything can start fresh for the new year. Another issue is that often things will change behind the scenes with specific items. This can easily cause things to literally break, or to reward dead items, or to reward things it shouldn't be rewarding, etc, etc. Way too many things to keep track of and so it's just best to lock or remove these items as to prevent unforeseen issues.

So what about those of us that threw their hearts out when they saw they were unusable? I understand if I will have to deal with it but I'd just thought I'd ask.

I'm attempting to open my "Week of Love Themed Pet" prize that I got from the Valentine competition, but it says that it can only be used during the Week of Love of Event and therefore does not let me open it.
