This is my version of an Aurora Borealis from the movie The Polar Express when they were just about to reach the Polar Express. He has visible Snow leopard atop a dark blue and black color to represent the starry winter night sky, the black and dark blues to represent the dark night while the white snow leopard represents the stars. The green frost runes and the Frosted Fae Wings help add into the Aurora Borealis.

Based on the very many green, red and white candy canes that I received this Christmas. They just gave a smile to my face this year since everyone was joking around saying I had too many of them, so I decided to use them as my reference or as a base.

This griffi I based off a mixture of a snow leopard, a snowstorm and the White Witch of Narnia, also called Jadis.

A snow leopard is a rare creature, and it lives in the Himalaya at high elevations where it is always cold. The Griffi species is based off a gryphon, and it has very thick fur. To me it looks a lot like a Horse, eagle and big cat mix, either a tiger or a snow/amur leopard. As snow leopards are very elusive, they are even considered spirits by some if the people that live there, and it fitted in with my notion of what the design should look like.
A snowstorm, because I first thought up a character for my design, and this Griffi was supposed to be a calm but cold kind of type, with wild outbreaks at time, as it is very winter themed in general. Also, I discovered the special "Whirling Snow" Mutation, which enforced my thought-up personality. A snowstorm can be very extreme, but it muffles all sounds apart from the blowing wind and ice.
Jadis, The White Witch of Narnia was another part of my "personality project" if you can call it so. Jadis wears a kind of white floaty but also coarse dress and has a long wand with a kind of ice crystal on the end. This wand crystal is conveniently represented by the crystal wings. Jadis is also where most of the blue comes from, as she is a blue/white scheme.
