I feel bad for the Ny'Vene. It's trapped and its wings are injured. In any case though, given the hint from before stating that we'd need help from all three of the guardians to succeed. I think this is probably in reference to the spell.

Seriously though, if the Ny has been trapped here by...somebody...why were we sent on a mission to go after it in the mountains? That seems fishy to me. How is the dragon a threat when it's being held in a hidden basement in a cabin past the mountains? And in an enchanted forest with guardians at that.

In any case, since attempting to rescue the Ny'Vene is not an option, I choose E.

Hemmons, I agree with your thinking. That's the order we found them in, so it makes the most sense for it to be earth, water fire.

I'm leaning towards combining the sylesties. Back in the forest, the Ent did say we need to "retrieve all 3 friends of the forest to succeed the mission". The Ny'vene's really powerful, and the tome has to be there for a reason. I think we'll stand the highest chance on defeating the ny'vene if we follow the tome and combine the 3 sylesties.


I'll make my final decision in a bit. =P

I also feel bad for the Ny'vene. She can't be very comfortable held by magic cuffs and piercings through her wings. What if defeating her is the wrong thing to do? What if we need to save her? What if she's the only one who can defeat whatever has trapped her or whatever is making that strange fog in the cellar?

I wonder if the symbols Hemmons has discovered are a release mechanism for the Ny'vene's prison? The orders I can think of pressing them are as follows:

- Earth, Water, Fire (the order we found them in)
- Fire, Water, Earth (the reverse order)
- Earth, Fire, Water (alphabetical order)
- Fire, Earth, Water (spells "FEW"? grasping at straws here...)

Anyone else have any ideas? I think that if Hemmons' runes don't do something helpful, we should probably use the tome's guide to combine the power of the three forest friends. Or should we use them separately for now and save the power of combining them for later? How much damage can the Ny'vene do while she is trapped like that?

Well, the only options we have are to defeat her, so there's nothing much we can do about that. =P

Regarding whether we should combine now or later, I think if we are going to combine the sylesties, we should do it earlier rather than later.

Each sylesti definitely would not be able to handle the ny'vene on their own. Sure, it's 3 vs 1, but there is still the chance that at least one would be critically injured or killed, especially if the ny'vene focuses her attack on one sylesti. And if that happens, we wouldn't be able to use the combination ritual later.

If we combine now, the tome says they'll become "even more powerful beings". Which should increase their chances of defeating the ny'vene.

And if the ny'vene isn't as strong as she seems, and such a powerful being isn't needed to defeat her, at least we can defeat her quickly, with as little damage occurred on our side. I would rather overestimate an enemy than underestimate them. =P
