She was a walking contradiction...
Unpredictable in her chaos...
Waiting for a man who could give
Her what no man had been able to...
Sweet words of love and undying
Devotion in the light of day...
And in the dark of the night,
To have him grab her hair, throw
Her down and remind her of the
Goddess she was.

A shadow fell across the plains.
The sky-touching, stone tower was tipped with iron prongs, completely smooth-sided, with but one barred window at the very top. a silver staircase spiraled downwards in its cool depths, but led nowhere. The dungeon had been sealed as soon as it's withering captive was inside.
Using all the strength she could muster, she crawled to the window, slowly, inching, clung to its rusted bars even as their roughness cut her once-fair hands, looked outside.
The world about, bathed in the light, was achingly beautiful. The sun set, turning that crimson-gold-orange color.
This would undoubtedly be her last night; she couldn't last longer.
It was cruel punishment for a small mistake...
She bore down in misery and wept.

The creature huffed and opened one eye, diamond shaped pupils narrowing into slits. He slept atop a pile of gold, big enough for two of himself, actually. Chests and crystals and gems were littered throughout his hoard, and a pile of fossilized amber was in the corner. He was proud of his work. Then, making sure no one was coming to try and steal his dear valuables, he closed his eye, and continued to sleep on his bed of gold.

She stood still before the choas; unshaken.
The wind blew its mighty breath against Her core but to no avail; unmoved.
Her coffee'd skin warm like the sun that kisses the Earth's horizon.
Something within Her had risen without warning nor permission:
She was a Goddess, in Her own right.

Brown. The soft tone of the Earth.
Golden hue painted widely across the canvas of Her bosom.
Her skin like caramelized silk, with the sunglow of Egypt itself.

She pressed Her face to the Earth's floor and moved mountains with Her prayers.
Queen of the meek, ambassador of the poor.
She was the perfect amalgam of beauty and brokenness.

the large male gazed at the stars in wonder. His paw reached up involuntarily to bat at the far away lights. Oh how he wished he could fly! The night sky entranced him, held him in their grasp. Unyielding. He let out a gasp as a far away star blazed threw the sky. He felt a single tear trail down his cheek as he remembered his lost lover. She had been like the night sky. Entrancing.

The winds blew across the plains painting the tall grasses white with frost. A creature not fo this word had arrived to worke his power upon the land. This place once home to scorching suns and vast herds of animals lay barren before him. With a gust of wind so thick with snow every wisp was visible to the eye he appeared standing amid the frozen stalks. He lifted his head towards the sky, his great antlers casting a shadow upon the moon. The crystals of ice which hung from his body produced a soft tinkling in the breeze that followed him wherever he went. He had done it once again. He had doomed another land for generations to come. He let out a mournful cry as he wrapt for those whom he had made suffer. This was his curse, his punishment from the gods...

The animal stood. It watched.
The rain poured down and hammered against the rock.
She stepped forwards- slowly,
and looked down into the field below.

He was dead.

She couldn't bring herself to stare down at it any longer,
She pulled her body back, slipped against the wet stone, and scrambled away.
Down the rocky hill, away from him.
He was gone now.

Nobody could change her mind. She hated love. There was no such thing,
She had to be tougher, now, to live by herself, hunting and making sure she was not the hunted,
She had no friends, but did not care.

She was alone in this world.

The slyestia let out a shallow cry as a water trickled down their throat. The world was black in their eyes. Around them the sun pounded down on the water, reflecting in a blinding glare. A wave buffeted the drowning sylestia as slowly the submerged. A tightness in their lungs indicated coming death but it was so peaceful. They drifted threw the water, the water seemingly caressing them. Slowly they started to lose conscious. They were fading from the world and they chose to let themselves go. With a final sigh into the water they drifted forever into eternal sleep.
