Yes, we are weird. I have absolutely no idea why we stuck with British units instead of metric. Just start teaching it to first graders and don't do the conversion thing and they'll all think in metric and only one generation will have to convert to understand, but nooo...they've been mucking about since the 70's trying to ssslllloooowwwlllyy change all the measurements. Metric is base 10, so much easier. If you have 300 cm you have 3 m instead of learning that 9 feet is 108 inches. What? How does that make sense?
Wait until you hit high school physics and have to learn the elements, their abbreviations, their atomic number, their group in the period table and whether they are metallic, non-metallic, gaseous, halogen, non-reactive or radioactive with no stable isotopes (and which are the actinide and which are the lanthanide series). And write decay schemes for alpha, beta, gamma decay (including K-capture and Auger electrons). Wait, that was 8th grade for me. Of course, then there were only 103 named elements (106 discovered) and now there are 5 or 6 more than that, I believe.

Except my top loos like some high claas thing cuz my mom was like rich and stuff in the 90s (she got paid really well, plus to family to tie her down) and soshe has a bunch of fashionable clothing from hong kong no less all custom made.
So i kinda look ok.
