You can clearly hear Balthur's sigh from the back of the cart. "Thank you - for helping me like this. But do try to get some rest at least.

You could sleep on the driver's bench, if you wanted to. Your fire might go out if you fall asleep though, or might set something alight by accident.

Nicote skips this option-he can sleep during the day or something. Not like he needed THAT much sleep anyway, he'd otten a few nights of full rest so he'd probably be fine.

Well, magic-wielding is taxing, and tends to need sleep to regenerate. But you aren't spending too much... and practising using it is helping you for the future.

The Wyvern looks at you for a second, as if agreeing with Balthur that you should rest. He snorts, quickening the pace again.

You keep on travelling, keeping the fire going while the cart is moving and when you give the Wyvern breaks to rest and melt the ice that collects on him.

The sun is staining the horizon a golden-orange colour, and he's starting to stumble from jogging so long. You too are tired, but not enough to seriously impede your performance just yet.

"Guess we should probably stop for awhile." Nicote yawns a little.

The Wyvern flumps down onto the road in an exhausted heap and starts snoring almost immediatly.

"Told you skipping sleep was a bad idea," Balthur says from the back. "Anyway, I'll make some food for you, it's the least I can do."

"Thanks." Nicote rests against the cart.

When he sees you he puts on a smile, searching for his Griffin eggs. Skywhisper puts the sack on his desk. "Well I'll be," the Dwarf says in wonder, peering into the bag. He looks around suspiciously and inconspicuously removes two from the bag and slides them into a container behind the counter. He then hands you back the remaining egg. "I hope you get a hatchling, you deserve one," he said, his eyes twinkling with joy. "You don't understand what this means to me. Here, have the pack - I can make sure you get it at least." He passes it to you without a second's hesitation. Adventurers Pack added to inventory: 1 tiny travel pack, dagger and a trapping kit. "Thank you - and may your path lead to great joy like mine will now," he says.

I thank him again and look for a way out of the city.

Shootingstar doesn't look up from where he's grazing, slowly chewing on a patch of clovers. In the sky, Sunfeather and Blazetalon circle. As you watch, Blazetalon dives into the brush, swerving up again with a Critter in her claws. The two of them come back, landing and immediatly launching into their breakfast.

I look around again for Crimson and Emberpaw then eat a little of the bread loaf.

Balthur staggers from the cart, teetering on three hooves as he tries to take his cooking equipment out the back on his own.

Nicote comes over andgiveshim a hand.
