Oh. My. Goodness.

Your bread house is AMAZING!!
Down to the furniture... And the walls!!

Did you glue gun the pieces of toast together? o:
Edges of toast to toast, and the pitas to the roof? And did you cut the bread before toasting it? The shapes stayed well! *o*

Thank you!! ^^;; I'm very happy with how it turned out, much better than the first try.

The toast pieces are held together with toothpicks and flour/water paste (it worked surprisingly well on toast), and the roof shingles by peanut butter. It's dried out now though and they've been falling off. XD

The hot glue was used to secure toothpicks to the foam board base, so nothing wobbled about while I was building the house.

I cut the bread after it was toasted. Very messy, crumbs everywhere! I haven't been able to look at a piece of toast the same way since.

Soo I thought I'd give this a crack. This is literally the 2nd time I've ever made a gingerbread house. It isn't a big tradition where I am because we get summer for Christmas :)

Fresh baked. Yum!

Blank house! :)

Front all done up :)

Front and side! Both sides are identical :)

Back of the house!

Then I couldn't decide if I wanted 2 little gingerbread men at the front ahaha :)

All in all, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. Especially since it is only my second time making one :)

Alright! I finally finished mine. I spread out the process over about 5 days, working on it a few hours each time, then I waited for quite a while because I couldn't decide if I wanted to add more and if so, what. I finally just decided it was good as it was and added the powdered sugar to make it look snowy. All in all, this probably took me around 8-10 hours.

Without further ado, here's my graham cracker house~

In-progress 1
I ran out of crackers the first night, so this is where I had to stop.

Finished Front

Finished Side

Finished Back

Finished Top

Finished Detail: Pile of Snowballs
These are little sprinkles I found in the cabinet, they looked about the right size to be snowballs, so I made a pile of them. I imagine the residents of my house probably got called inside for food when they were in the middle of a snowball fight.

Finished Detail: Door
The handle is a mini m&m.

Finished Detail: Front Path
You can't really see it now, but under all that powdered sugar is hot cocoa powder, glued to the cardboard to create the path. The path markers are red and green chocolate chips.

Finished Detail: Snowman
This little guy was made from white chocolate in a mold.

Finished Detail: Side
The snowflakes are sprinkles and the red and green candies are generic m&ms.

Finished Detail: Roof
The red, white and green candies are nerds, I placed all of them, one at a time, with tweezers. That alone took me about 2 hours.

Finished Detail: Front

All hail pre-baked gingerbread kits!

Wow, Look at all these goodies that I have no idea what to do with!

Do I KNOW if this is gingerbread, and NOT cardboard? Pfft, Yeah right. Your guess is probably better than mine! XD

This only took me ten hours.

Beans! \o/ They turned into my lunch after the house had set enough. xD

Annnd another ten million tries to figure out how to use the thingy mah-bob.

I'm a cruddy gingerbread-contractor. Those poor ginger-people who move in are gonna spend a FORTUNE on repairs! This roof isn't even attached evenly, I just frosted up all the gaps to make it appear as though it were.

My patchwork revealed.

Painting? Psh, I'm a (Crappy) Contractor, why would you expect a better paint job from me?! ...Yes, I am an artist in my spare time. ....Houses aren't the same as canvas!

Look at this roof!

And these sides! (I said I wasn't a painter!)

Look at this front! Man, I should have hired a friend to put up those Christmas lights!

Close up of my shame.
