(I did this earlier last week, but never posted til now, sorry.)

So I never did paper mache before, but I wanted the experience lol. Made the mix and blew out eggs with a friend, because I didn't want to figure out how to paper mache alone aha.

He doesn't play Sylestia, but I showed him I wanted to do a "dragon" (ny'vene) egg and a "flower" (aeridini) egg.

With paper mache, he made the first ny'vene egg and I made the aeridini egg. In the end, I wanted to see if it'd be better to just paint an egg traditionally than to make it out of paper mache, so I made another ny'vene egg.

Starting materials. I am using a semi-Czech style for this entry which involves many small dots or shapes making up larger shapes on Easter Eggs. ^^ I re-used my nametag from Vday with the old date crossed out.

Miss Vorpa starts to get her head-appendages.

Finished head-appendages.

First egg finished. :)

The bottom so you can see the detail better.

Here's her tail, drying. (I used gel pens for this)

The kitties tried to help set up, too. ;)

Swimming in a bowl of glass beads. ^^

This was really fun to make so I would like to thank the admins for the chance to do this. The next thing is that I didn't have any eggs in my house. So I improvised :3

Starting out with my art supplies.

Then going to draw me some runny babbit line art :)

Then darken the lines and color everything in.

And here is a final shot without any tags so you can see everything :D

All done. Im super proud of myself with this one, specially for going outside my comfort zone.

I just drew my egg as I'm super unwell at the minute -
I drew a Bulbori hatchling with Rainbow Gems emerging from her egg.

The sketch I started with

Laying some colour down

And the final product - Happy Easter!

Using all natural materials is not easy.

OK, a sequin isn't natural, but it makes a good peeky eye.

Don't know if you can see it, but the little bobbly balls on stems are real pear blossom anthers. However, it is very difficult to glue real flower petals! Next time I'll use silk--silk is natural, right?

Is it an aeri or the creature from the black lagoon, LOL?

My starting supplies

The egg base. the sparkly sequins represents the dots you see near the bottom of the egg.

It is a nephini egg. The yarn represents the vines wrapping around the egg (Rose vines weren't flexible enough and I didn't have any honeysuckle growing in the backyard). The apple blossoms branch is similar to the flowers growing on the vines wrapped around the egg. The egg is in a warm little nest.

My egg was suppose to be based off of and Aeridini's tail mixed with a few different flowers. But my painting skills are rough.I used acrylic paint and paint brushes.
