We have some hydrangeas growing in our front yard! They're so pretty, and I didn't know they were there until now.

There's a web in the corner of that wall, it has leaves in it.

A bunny ran across the yard while I was looking for stuff to photograph. He had some great timing, and I caught him mid-jump!

A slightly blurrier version of the last photo while I quickly tried to focus on my namecard. It was pretty bright out, and I should have used a black marker, but my name is at least somewhat visible ^^; especially if you tilt up the monitor.

We have an apple tree growing in the backyard. It will eventually bear tasty fruits for us. They are probably edible technically at the moment, but would not taste very good.

This cool little pond thing is a short walk from the house. It's full of fish and dragonflies and frogs! So neat!

So I had originally planned to go hiking in the Niagara region with a friend today, but he cancelled on me last minute so I couldn't get out of the city. Urban scavenger hunt it was! I ended up going to a nearby park with some friends, where most of these photos came from.

1. Find a pink flower. - The city of Toronto has been planting some really nice flowers in the boxes along major roads this year.

4. Find a wild animal. - A robin! There were a bunch of these guys hunting through the community garden, but I didn't find any worms...



And of course, what urban scavenger hunt would be complete without a rat of the skies:

6. Find some natural water (no pools etc). - At the foresty edge of the garden, far from the plots, there was a long puddle of water like there had been a rivulet passing by which had mostly dried up in the late-spring heat.



7. Find some trash and throw it away. - Found umbrella handle in the grass. Tossed it where it belongs!





8. Find a rock with at least 3 different colors on it. - The only one I could find matching this description. It's not very pretty, but it is multicoloured!



9. Find a flowering tree. - This lovely white-flowered one is in the green space surrounding my apartment building. I get to look out my window at it every morning.

11. Find a plant seed. - Maple keys! They're the seeds of our national symbol here in Canada :D



12. Find something that you think is beautiful outdoors. - The photos absolutely do not do this flower justice. The colour of the petals is almost like a neon indigo. It's so beautiful!



13. Find a tree stump. - This small decorative tree/large woody bush thing (it looks like a tree the way they prune it...) across from my building has been cut down multiple times, and it seems to leave a new stump each time.
