I made a surprisingly delicate and pretty rose from tomato skin!
I started with some tomatoes
And then I sacrificed one
At this point it looks like a horror scene.
But then!
The magic of rolling stuff round itself..
Ta-da!
And here's an extra glamour shot

My mom and I made a cake for my brother late last night since it is his birthday today. :) I didn't get any pictures of the cake process, but here's one of a flower decoration I did today since we had kiwis in our fridge. ^^
First step, gather the ingredients/tools. :D
Making the final cut and hopefully it comes out nicely...
Not too bad for my first try :D A little slanted, but not too bad. ^-^
Cutting the skin away to form petals.
And putting it on the cake (but I had to cut the skin completely off) with other strawberry flowers with blueberry centers. :)
Ta da :D my dad even got in the picture (his legs at least), haha.

To be honest, there was no planning involved in this at all. We had apples, we had raisins... we had scallions. :}
(I had to resize the images twice manually before they would upload, which is why they're all different sizes. What my internet being completely unreliable, it's kind of a miracle they uploaded at all. ^^:)

I ended up making a flower using candy.
Here's the ingredients.
I wasn't really sure exactly what I wanted to do. I was thinking though the butterscotch candy could be used for the center of the flower. So I started with that.
I'd gotten the twizzlers because I figured the green ones could be used for a stem. But I thought that maybe the dark purple one would be okay for making a smiley face for the flower. I took little strip off for the mouth and then took a couple other little pieces for the eyes.
I then used redhots to shape the petals. And then took apart a piece of the green twizzlers to make leaves. You can see a petal of redhots and what became a leaf in this picture.
Here's the completed flower. I had lighting issues so I'll include a couple pictures.

First of all, gotta mix all the stuff.
Then I made it green.
Then I set up the cupcake pans.
Here they are in the oven.
Fresh out of the oven.
Setting them up on a plate.
And now they are a beautiful flower.

It's simple but nostalgic, my sister and I used to make whole "gardens" while watching our Saturday morning cartoons.

Decided I shouldn't spend too much time in this when I should be studying for finals, so settled for making a flower out of toast.
Was going to end with the above picture, but I thought this looks decent enough to show. Cracked eggs into the bread and microwaved it to make super lazy French Toast.

Whoo! Last minute participation effort! I do this every fest -- I tell myself I'll do something awesome this time, and plan ahead, and then I pull something together on the last day... Oh well! Enjoy my dessert flowers, which I actually did eat afterwards with a cup of tea (minus the stems!).
Supplies all laid out. Marshmallows, cherries, and Chinese broccoli. One of these things is not like the other....
Cutting up the marshmallow "petals"
First flower assembled.
Yay! Flowers!
