I agree with sav about ission pets. I ntoiced myself that while my lvl 60 max stats on my team (other than my tank, who takes a massive stat hit) improve tremendously with the new system, lower level pets are very hurt by it. Specifically non-maxed pets, like what a newer player would have access to in say, the first city.
I lvled this guy up to lvl 25 to look at what a low level pet would have in the new system.
Old stats, everything put directly into strength as if for a strength mission pet
New system, his only available point into strenght
As you can see, thats over 100 points different. As he has not actively been sent on any missions, i cant say how well he would do in the field as is. But i cant imagine a 100 point difference would make things very easy.
To compare, this is a lvl 15 in the current system(with agility instead of strength, it was all i had atm). They have extremely similar base stats (1 point difference) and still, the level 15 in the current system has more stats than a level 25 in the new system. While at a higher level 100 points doesnt seem like much in the long run, i'm worried about how much of a difference it will be for newbies just starting out...and mission-wise, the more the better because even my fully statted lvl 60s with high level, high rarity gear still fail sometimes. With missions being such a major way for people to earn money, i'm worried it might scare some of the newbies away.
One problem with the mission pets is it could be much more difficult for newer players who start off making gold via missions. I imagine things like missions will probably be very different once the site itself is revamped. Could there be some sort of temporary feature to help? I say that but I don't have any ideas myself of what could be done.
I'll take a look at Missions and lower levels before I implement the new system, but I don't think it'd be much of an issue.
I think the biggest issue would be the 45-60 range. But I don't think a drop in Pets' Stats will be too significant. It kinda will just affect the current "endgame" for Players, but once the MegaZone releases the "endgame" moves to Level 75 and by the time Pets are hitting Level 65+, they will be much more powerful than they are now under the current system.
So if there is a bit of an issue for things like Missions, I think it will just be temporary until the Level Cap is raised.

I imagine this balances out quite a bit at Level 30 when Pets earn their 2nd Proficiency Point.

Love these changes! It's going to be fun experimenting with all the new battle combinations!
One point of confusion though. When it comes to the water shield abilities, it mentions they absorb physical damage. So is the water tree basically useless against magical encounters?
Also, is the water shield strength dependent on the damage of the pet casting the shield?

So cool.
but I'm worried about the Mission pets.
Most of their stats rely on the proficiency.

So at levels 0, 30, 60, 65, 70, and 75 my pets will get Proficiency Points. But the Level up points system will be removed. Will my pets strength, intelligence, dexterity, and agility still go up the more I level up? Or is it only the proficiency points that levels up?

No, it absorbs all damage. It's saying that it absorbs x% of the Pet's Physical Damage of all incoming damage.

The amount that each of the Proficiencies provides increases with every Level the pet gains. So the Level Up Point system is basically built into the new Proficiency system.
