I think that plot 1 would have a bit more mischief, so I'm voting for that one.

I was just reminded of a show that I used to watch called "Wizards vs Aliens". How do you think that aliens and their science would fair against our school full of mages and magic?

Just as a heads up to everyone, here, because I didn't want to shove a wall of text into the RP:
As of next week Monday, I am probably not going to either a) Have access to the Internet or b) Have regular access to my phone, for two weeks, with the exception of weekends. During the two weeks after that, I will be busy, but it will most likely be possible for me to reply, and especially because of the time differences it shouldn't be too much of a problem (I'd imagine - it might require a few bits of waiting here and there).
So, onto the point... rather than remove Rick from the RP or have someone else play him, I was hoping that something could happen to him that knocks him out/ puts him in a state in which he cannot do anything (e.g he's in hospital) during those two irl weeks, and at the weekends when I am online the other characters can visit him or vice versa, depending on the injury/ illness.
My idea is that something goes wrong and he is injured in class after performing a spell, but what do you guys think?

Maybe something a family emergency or sickness that keeps him out of order for a while

A sickness sounds good (the family one is unlikely), I'll just see what the others say :)

Ok, so...
This Sunday, Rick is going to fall ill, either in class, or after waking up. From that point on he won't be interacted with - we can assume that he is asleep or something otherwise. On weekends, I'll be able to be active for a while, so the characters can interact with him then. I will be reading along and keeping up, but will be unable to reply - however, Rick himself will not know any of the events that happen, so if those weekend bits are when the other characters tell him what has happened, I think that could be a good idea.
Then, when I'm able to reply, he will start to feel better - not immediately, of course, but he will eventually.
Though you guys can mention him and stuff, e.g one character says "He seems a little better/worse" - he's not entirely vanishing.
Sound good? :)
