Thornkit limps around you happily. He reached up and licks your cheek, grateful to be part of your clan. You realise Thornkit hasn't said a word since he arrived. What do you want to do?
Thornkit are you able to talk? / gently nuzzles his cheek

Greyclaw stopped moving, her breathing becoming more distant.

Thornkit looked up at her, meowing quietly. "T-thh-thor" he tried to say thorn, you could just make it out, however it seemed like he had trouble speaking. Was he mute, or just didn't know how to speak?

I pick her up by the scruff and attempt to drag her away from the smoke.

Foxstar
Greyclaw let out a faint cough, her chest stopped rising and falling. A tree near was cracking, as if about to fall.
Fallenstar
Thornkit blinked, looking up. He coughed, trying again but only managing the "T-th" you feel your throat parched slightly from all the walking you'd done, plus your paws were beginning to ache.

Thornkit wriggled like an average kit, not liking being picked up. You head towards the lake, but in some places the ground seems a little slippy, with Thornkit it could be dangerous if you take a wrong step while carrying him, plus did he have parents and why was he there in the bramble bush?

Thornkit nodded and led you down a pebbly bit, where it wasn't slippery. He bounded forward, jumping into the water, his tail wiggling excitedly. He'd found a tiny, not edible fish and was playing with it, rolling onto his back in the shallow lake shore water.
