Here is my Sylestia Easter Egg entry for 2018:
So, I brought out my Play-Doh again! It really comes in handy for contests like this, and it's reusable too.
This time, I decided to make the Sylestia logo Dragon. I didn't have any yellow, so I used orange instead. Anyway, the Sylestia logo Dragon wanted to participate in this years Egg Hunt, and it even succeeded in solving some of Krin's clues!
As always, this is a fun event to participate in. I love seeing all the different entries! :DD

I was really indecisive about what to make this year. I had an idea I really liked but I just didn't have the time or budget for it so today I finally had to come up with some other plan. I decided to start with some clay and see what happened.
Looking at the various eggs on the site, I decided to go with the regular non-fabled egg this time around.
I then made it a nest to sit in.
Since there was still time I wanted to try to do a diorama. I had picked up a few small canvases and some paint just in case they turned out useful. I thought it would be neat to use one for the sky and one for the ground. I quickly realized though that cats had to be locked in another room. lol.
Gizmo (the big brown tabby) and Wolf (the small blue) together.
No cats in my way now.
I loved this little fish with white I painted. Unfortunately, it got killed from a mishap later. ;_; I'm still sad but I'm glad I at least have a few pictures with it.
I figured while things dried for a while I'd go looking for moss and plants. I'd also made this little tree trunk out of a paper roll that I cut in half length ways but I forgot to take a picture of it. You can kinda sorta see the hollow backside of it in this picture where I had experimented on how to arrange things and everything fell apart. I was scared for the final result at this point. The pieces of camellia branches were to be used as part of the tree.
My favorite little fish one more time before he got smeared when I tried to arrange moss for the grass. I was too impatient and he wasn't fully dry yet. I didn't really have enough time to wait much though. ;_;
I got everything set up and made a new fish. I didn't have time to add white markings but it almost looks like there's white on it from the picture. Maybe because the paint was still wet and shiny? It was tough to get everything to stay in place at first but finally got it all stable enough. All done!

What will it be?
That kind of looks like the egg of a peeky eye (glued to a clothespin).
It is an egg with a peeky eye!
Squeeze the ends of the clothspin and you can see it's a Lupora puppy.
A pink egg with silver spots--and green feathers?
It's a Ferrikki hatchling, complete with poofy tail.
(Sorry about the poor camera angles and the shadows. Didn't have anyone to help, so I had to hold the "Clothespin Hatching Eggs" in one hand and try to take the photos with the other.)
N.B. If you try to make these, do not use the kind of craft foam that has a self-stick backing!

Easter = spring = aeridini right?
Gotta love fuzzy antenna?
We were doing a regular tail and then went "wait, there's easter lily, and aeri have a lily tail, right?" I am very pleased with how the flower turned out, actually.
(finicky small angles to cut bluh)
thrilling adventures in cutting out grass outlines today.
also the ralisation that our nametag is a blurred mess in these final shots.
(and with that over, the aeri is relocated but... maybe not to the best of spots, because I now feel... a bit watched)
