Most of the changes I'm loving! But... not the fiery rainbow mane. Rainbow traits tend to overpower all of the color slots to keep it a true rainbow, and that's a GOOD thing. Without that the results can just be... awful. The Rainbow Scales was a trait I designed quite a while back and the entire purpose was to match the colors of the rainbow mane. Now it just doesn't work with the flames.

(3V version of one of my 6V project breeders where the fiery rainbow mane was something I had worked for from the project's beginning.)

Result on various themes for pets that actually exist:

Overall, it is not looking good. While I can't speak for other players, scanning through some of the other qitari with Rainbow Fire Mane I can say that I honestly don't like it unless the M2 is white. And that is extremely limiting for projects and designs with variable M2s.

Yup. White is great. Anything else is maybe okay but more likely cringy and totally not rainbowlicious anymore.

Edit: For the additional query of if mane genes other than rainbow would be wanted for Nebula and Fire, Yeeeessss! So much yes! The mane mutations that passed on genes like highlighted mane, monarch, etc, really feel "unfinished" and tend to take away from pets that have both a mane mutation and mane gene.

Hmm, admittedly I like the old Nebula mane. As much as it could mess up color schemes, how it fades to white around the edges was unique. The new nebula mane looks a little too glassy somehow. Could a new G3 change this maybe?

Love love the others, though!

I actually think the new fire rainbow mane looks quite good and the scales was a nice touch! Then again this is coming from someone obsessed with bright colors

Honestly, I don't like the new Fire Mane, I loved the old one.

The fire mane is definitely much better, although it seems a little too sharp, especially on the inside. If you look at this picture in comparison, you will probably see what I mean.

The way the fire flows also seems a bit too predictable. It all flows kind of like fur or a real mane would. Adding some randomness to how it 'moves' might look nicer. Also, maybe adding some smoke would make it look better? I guess you would have to see it first, but it might be a nice touch.

The Luxurious Locks look amazing, and much sharper. The additional shading really adds more depth to the mane.

The Icicle Mane is also a huge improvement. I went from hating that trait to loving it in a matter of seconds! However it seems to... how do I say it. Outdo the style of the rest of the Qitari? It looks too advanced compared to the rest of the art.

The Nebula Mane is also gorgeous, although I have to say the same as with the Icicle Mane. It seems too advanced compared to the rest of the Qitari. Swirlspot also told me it looks to bubbly, and I have to agree. Also, the old one captured the emptiness of space in a pleasing way. The new one seems much more crowded, and it's kind of disappointing.

All of the art is great though, and it looks like it took quite a while to make! Now if you will excuse me, I am going to admire my lovely new Qitari's.

These are amazing! Love them all. Now I wish I'd used Nebula mane for my starter. :D Also, I think more G3s would be great.
