Dust Darling Lunemara

Cavern Fungi Faelora--Dark twin of the Forest Fungi Faelora.

Rock Salt Morkko--Most rock salt comes from deep underground. These Morkkoes can totally shift it to the surface for you!

Amethyst Jewelry Zolnixi

Or perhaps Ametrine Zolnixi--not sure.

Rare Ore Thief Ferrikki--Their coloration is camouflage. obviously; a Golem takes a swing at the Ferrikki and smashes its own foot.

Lurking Danger Kelpari--Underwater caves seldom give up their dead . . .and may not give up the living, if these skulking swimmers decide to get nasty!

Swiftlet Aurleon--In the real world, swiftlets are speedy birds that (get this) nest in caves and can fly in darkness via echolocation! There are many species and sub-species of swiftlets. Quite a few of them are named after the unique location where they are found, so of course we need a Sylestia Swiftlet.

It's cute how so many photos of swiftlets show a mated pair together.

Mighty Mining Draeyl--Inspired by our world's rockbreakers, mole machines, road headers, crushers, etc. If you want to work underground in Sylestia, you don't need million-pound machines: you need Draeylpower!

Oh, the wings let them transport themselves from site to site, without wrecking the roads.

Dark Cenote Sylvorpa (or perhaps Abyssal Sylvorpa)--"Cenote" is pronounced something like "se NOTE ti" and and refers to a cavern formation that is, basically, a deep sinkhole with water in it. Search for "cenote images" to see some really spectacular cave formations. Most of those images have bright artificial lighting in many colors, alas.

The photo below, however, is of a cenote lit only by sunlight coming through a break in the cavern ceiling over it. Some cenotes are deep, so I designed this Theme around the idea of a Sylvorpa community at the bottom of such an abyss.

Bicolor Sapphire Qitari

Coblynau Nephini--or perhaps Bluecap Nephini or Tommyknocker Nephini. ("Coblynau" is pronounced COB li nye.) These are all terms for underground spirits or creatures that just might lead you to valuable ores or warn you of danger. (The bluecaps are noted for leading the way to safety with a tiny, usually blue, flame.) In return, they'd like some pretty shinies and a bite of your cookie. Disrespect them, and they'll play tricks on you. Sounds a lot like Nephinies to me!

Annwn (AH noon) Guardian Lupora, or Tir na nOg Lupora (teer nah NAH)--In Celtic mythology, Annwn (also called Tir na nOg, depending on region) is the Otherworld, and it is underground. I don't know of any other mythology that places Heaven underground. But, when I was a kid, I read a historic fiction story in which a slave who was working on a railway line, helping to dig a tunnel, fantasized about breaking into a magical, underground Heaven. In his Heaven, creatures such as catamounts and wolves were peaceful and friendly, and he wouldn't be a slave anymore. I think the wolves may even have been blue. Anyhow, I was thinking of that story and of Annwn when I created these, though they were directly inspired by a Tamed Lupora I own.

Hollow World Nytekrie or Theropod Nytekrie--To me, Nytekries look primitive, like feathered dinosaurs. Old science fiction sometimes proposed the earth was hollow and contained prehistoric animals. Is Sylestia hollow? Are these really primative Nytekries? Are Nytekries the missing link between Draeyls and Aurleons? Do I have any idea what I'm talking about?

Secret Alexandrite Bulbori--Humans didn't discover this gemstone until 1830!
